Were you one of the many people swooped up in all the hype surrounding the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton? Well I wasn’t until just before the wedding was about to happen. The week before the wedding everything I read and saw on TV was about the impending nuptials. What will her dress look like? How will she do her hair? Will William be in full uniform? And on and on. The momentum grew and I must admit I couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive. Everyone was talking about the big Royal Wedding. One of my co-workers even scheduled the day off so she could get up early and watch the whole wedding from the beginning to the end. People even through pajamas parties and decorated their homes in celebration. Everyone seems to be in love with this couple and wanted to wish them the best of happiness together.
When A & E Entertainment approached me a couple of weeks ago and told me about their new Lifetime Movie that would be launching June 21st, called William & Kate, I just had to jump right in. The DVD arrived and to my surprise my 19-year-old daughter couldn’t wait to watch it. I had no idea she was so interested in the Royal Couple. Just two days after the movie arrived she was almost begging to watch it with me.
So nestled in on the couch with our popcorn and pillows, we started to watch William and Kate. This Lifetime movie tells the story of how Kate Middleton, an ordinary British girl, came to be Prince William’s intended. It lets you follow their over eight year courtship together. It takes you on their journey starting from the very first day they met at the University of St. Andrews. You learn that in the beginning Kate herself was not all that interested in William while all her chatty girlfriends where totally intrigued and ready for any chance they might have with this handsome Prince. You get to experience both sides of this relationship. You can relate to the pulls and pushes that happen in any regular dating relationship. Their on again, off again courtship is further hampered by the undying attention they receive from the media. I sympathized with William as he tries to protect his new love from the paparazzi and feel sorry for Kate being subjected to such a hard relationship. She is not ready and cannot really understanding what it is like for William with his obligations to the Royal Family. More than once you watch their relationship be torn apart due to circumstances. I realized while watching this move that they are just two relatively ordinary young people trying to make it work. You understand their true love for one another and how much they should be together.
Kate Middleton is played by Camilla Luddington and she does a wonderful job of capturing Kate’s warmth, humour and grace. Nico Evers-Swindell also does a fanatic job of portraying Prince William in this movie. He is a young, adventurous man who has to choose between sowing his wild oats and finding true love.

Although this A & E Lifetime Movie of William & Kate is only 93 minutes long it is an enjoyable look inside this storybook romance. I now feel that I know the real Prince William and Kate. Not just the hype that the media portrays for entertainment. I loved having the opportunity to look behind all that and discover the real people. Understanding that it is not always Grand Royal Balls with glass slippers. There is a real story here, a story of two people who genuinely fell in love and I personally hope that they do have their "happily ever after".

I would love to win this movie for my 4 year old daughter. I was exactly her age when Princess Diana and Prince Charles were married and I distinctly remember watching the real life fairytale unfold with my mom. On the day of Kate and Will’s wedding, my daughter and I got all dressed up in our “princess” dresses and I made tea, crumpets (neither of which she liked!!) and other snacks and we watched “the real princess” getting married. I’m glad she enjoyed it and hope she will never forget that day we spent together. A dvd would be a great souvenir reminder for her!!!
uk background would love this movie for my collection, i can carry it around in the shopping bag I won from you!!!
LOVE the royals! I celebrated by making scones while I watched the wedding, and making Cottage Pie for dinner that night. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!
It’s a lovely story and it is great to learn more about the royals!

I would love to win this movie because I love that Kate was just an ordinary girl marrying a prince. I celebrated by watching as much as I could of the wedding on TV.
I would love to win the because I am oddly fasinated by them – they are so sweet and loving/in love – a very rare thing in the real world, let alone a royal family. Good for them! My youngest and I watched the wedding (but at a decent time not 4 in the morning LOL) She loves the pomp and finery (she is six).

I want to win this because I just love the royal couple and it makes me dream ! I celebrated their wedding by waking up super early to watch it.
I would LOVE to have this movie because I am curious what their life is really like–trying to find and keep love surrounded by press and a billion busy-bodies! I spent their wedding up with my best friend, in the middle of the night, drinking organic red wine and snuggling under blankets in the living room, haha!
