new dizolve 252x300 Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets Review & Giveaway (Canada Only) 06/11

What household chore do you dislike doing the most? Well besides cleaning the bathroom, I don't like doing laundry. In fact I avoid it as much as humanly possible.  I am not really sure why I don't like doing it, but I don't.

This week all of that has changed.  I was recently given the opportunity by Pelam Enterprises to try out one of their newest product.

Introducing Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets.

Yes, SHEETS! Pelam Enterprises has developed  laundry detergent in a sheet format. Like the name indicates, these laundry detergent sheets completely dissolve  in your washing machine. I have never seen anything like this before. After receiving my samples and reading the enclosed information that came in my parcel I couldn't wait to give them a try.  My husband was excited too.  Not about Dizolve, but about the fact that I wanted to do laundry. LOL

dizolve11 300x300 Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets Review & Giveaway (Canada Only) 06/11

I received three different scents of Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets to try out.  Fresh Linen, which has a fresh clean scent. Lavender, which smells like spring-time to me and unscented for those who prefer no perfumes at all.

Before starting I thought I had better read the back of the package to see what exactly I had to do.

"Well, this is easy."

  • Step #1 - Place a sheet in the washing machine
  • Step #2 - Let the water fill up (maybe sing a little song)
  • Step # 3 -  Add your clothes

Now simply walk away because you are done! That is it-no pulling out a heavy box or jug. No measuring out the powder or liquid. No straining your eyes to see if you have hit that virtually invisible measuring line that in printed inside most lids. No spills or mess. With Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets, you literally open the package, start your machine throw in a sheet and add you clothes.Within seconds of this laundry sheet coming in contact with the water it starts to dissolve.  In fact with my second load of laundry (yes I went for round two) I actually held the sheet under the flow of the water and it quickly broke apart and dissolved as I held it.  This is amazing! It immediately starts to break up and you can see the bubbles of detergent starting to emerge.  Very cool.

To see it dissolve right before your eyes just watch this video.

Now the real question is how well does it work?  It might be revolutionary and a really great idea, but will it clean my clothes? The answer is yes! It works. Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets indeed work just as good as my regular liquid brand.  My clothes came out fresh and clean and there was absolutely no left over residue. I was very concerned since while doing the last load I didn't wait for the sheet to completely break up and dissolve.  I just started the water, threw in the sheet, threw in my towels and walked upstairs.  I expected my laundry to show my impatients, but was happy to discover they didn't. My towels came out soft, clean and fresh. While transferring my laundry from the washer to the dryer I noticed something.  Little blotches of left over spilt "liquid" detergent on the top of my washer. This is of course from me spilling and dripping my usual brand.  As I cleaned the top of my washer and dryer I realized how great using Dizolve is going to be.  No more heavy jugs. No more measuring. No more spills. No more need for extra room to store detergent. These little compact Dizolve packages would look awesome in a pretty little basket beside my washer.  I was inspired.

As the week went on I was scouring the house looking for laundry to do.  I know what you are thinking "I have lost my mind". This is the truth, I couldn't wait to try Dizolve again and again. For some reason, I just got a kick out of watching that sheet disappear each time I put it in the water. You have to try them.

Not only are Dizolve Laundry Sheets compact and easy to use, they are the only premeasured concentrated laundry sheet on the market that completely dissolve when placed int he washing machine. It doesn't matter if you use hot, warm or cold water (like me). They dissolves super fast.

So I have just told you what I think of Dizolve Laundry Sheets. They are super cool, dissolve when in contact with water and leave you laundry soft, clean and fresh. Now onto the really important facts about Dizolve Laundry Sheets.  What you might not see or realize.

Dizolve Laundry Sheets are as thin as a credit card and as I previously mentioned are pre-measured. Use a full sheet for a full load of laundry or quickly and easily break apart the the sheet at the perforated line to use just a half sheet for a half load.

They contain virtually no water. What this means is by using Dizolve Laundry Sheets you will reduce the impact to our environment. Dizolve Laundry Sheets are so compact they will take up 50% less cube space than conventional liquid detergents. This will cut carbon emissions produced with trucking larger goods and gives us the chance to save 127 metric tons per year of plastic from being processed in landfills. By switching to Dizolve Laundry Sheets we could also save 100 million liter a year of water from being wasted in the wash cycle! It is totally Eco-Friendly and Biodegradable.

Traditional Liquid Laundry Detergent contain nearly 70% water. With Dizolve Laundry Sheets they contain virtually no water so you get all the detergent you paid for.

Traditional Liquid Laundry Detergent comes in Jugs and bottles that are heavy and bulky to transport and are destined for landfills. With Dizolve, the packaging is compact, convenient, perfect for travel and won't end up in a landfill.

Traditional Liquid Laundry Detergent is big and bulky. The bottles are heavy and hard to pour, making them messy. Dizolve sheets are a breeze. Just grab a thin little sheet and throw it in. No mess, no fuss.

Traditional Liquid Laundry Detergent has a high carbon footprint. Dizolve has a small carbon footprint.

In short, Dizolve Laundry Sheets are a good thing. I love this saying from Dizolve;

"Dizolve Laundry Detergent Sheets not only make your life easier, it gives Mother Nature a second breath!"

Well Said!

Did you know......

(The following information is a direct quote from the information I received)

"THE AVERAGE FAMILY DOES 300 LOADS OF LAUNDRY PER YEAR (6 PER WEEK). IF ONLY 1% OF CANADIAN FAMILIES WOULD SWITCH TO DIZOLVE WE WOULD SAVE 1 MILLION JUGS, OR 127 METIC TONS OF PLASTIC FROM LANDFILLS."

Shocking!

"LOAD FOR LOAD, CONCENTRATED LIQUID DETERGENT TAKES UP TWICE THE SPACE THAN DIZOLVE AND POWDER TAKES UP 3 TIMES THE SPACE. TO BRING THE SAME AMOUNT OF DETERGENT FROM MONCTON TO MONTREAL THE FUEL AND CO2 SAVING WOULD BE AS FOLLOW:"

"LIQUID: 390 LITERS OF DIESEL FUEL OR 1040 KG OF CO2 EMISSIONS"

"POWDER:780 LITER OF DIESEL FUEL OR 2080 KG OF CO2 EMISSIONS"

This is why Dizolve is different.

The Positive:

  • Dizolve is premeasured
  • It is biodegradable
  • Eco-friendly
  • There is less packaging
  • It reduces our carbon footprint
  • Virtually no water
  • Phosphate Free
  • Works in hot, warm and cold water

    I like this fact!

*Plus, we thought that it would be nice if detergent took up less space in your laundry room. That’s why we decided to come up with a revolutionary envelope format! If it takes less space in your shelves that means transportation trucks would fit more products for less travel! Yup, we also thought it would be awesome to reduce transportation CO2.*

Why is this product so superior when I have Purex sheets at home with laundry soap and fabric softener in 1 sheet. Throw in washer, transfer with clothes in dryer and presto… Done. The only difference I see is that Purex does not dissolve, but I prefer the fabric softener in place of dissolving.

( 3 ) No more of the Fabric Sheet that do not break down going into the landfills
