Shopping Brag for Food Basics on October 17, 2012
By First Timer Couponer Megan
Today I decided to do my first grocery using quite a bit of coupons. Normally I bring one or two to save a few bucks, because to be honest, it gets a bit overwhelming if you don’t know what you are doing. So after collecting coupons now for over a month and checking the different match ups, I figured I finally had the hang of it. So I went with a zip lock baggie of coupons in hand, a pen, my scotch tape and my grocery list.
So here is the breakdown of what was saved on what products;
Iams Dog Food: Normally $11.99, but on sale for $10.49 plus I had a coupon for $5.00 off (mailed company) making it $5.49.
Pedigree Dog Treats: One was $3.99 and the other was $3.89. I had a B1G1FREE coupon (insert). The cashier made the $3.99 one free (I’m assuming she did not realise this).
IOGO Yogurt Drinks: Normally $0.99, but they were on sale for $0.79 and I had two $0.75 off coupons (save.ca), making them $0.04 each.
Club House Sauces: The two gravies were $0.79 each ($1.58) and I had a B2graviesG1seasoningpack FREE coupon (save.ca) ($1.49 value).
Dempsters Country White Bread: $2.99 – $2.99 (FPC) = FREE
Pantene Pro V x 2 @ $4.99 each= $9.98 – B1G1FREE (insert)= $2.49 each
English Muffins: $2.49 – $2.49 (FPC) = FREE
Deli Fresh Lunch Meat: Normally $3.99 each (totaling $11.97); store sale of B2G1FREE, making each one $2.66. Also had two $1.00 off coupons, making each one $1.99.
Not bad for a first timer :)

Thanks! It was a blast and kind of like a rush when checking out and seeing my total going up, then going down. Hoping I can do just as well or better the next time around :D
