I think the tomato recalls began sometime in late May or early June. It was do to salmonella. Stores stopping carrying them & even restaurants (larger chains included) stopped serving them. It was in all of Canada (I am pretty sure) as well as in the USA.
I don't remember much about the potatos, but surely if you google it you can read about it. I'm surprised you never heard about the tomatos! When it was giong on that's all I had heard about!
