Brazil Tall Ship Sailing Adventure Contest
1. THE CONTEST.
The Brazil Tall Ship Sailing Adventure contest (the “Contest”) is offered by Travel CUTS & from July 11, 2007 to September 10, 2007, the sponsor is not responsible for any entries that are incomplete, lost, stolen, destroyed, delayed, or not transmitted due to technical failure, however caused.
2. ELIGIBILITY:
No purchase or payment is necessary in order to participate in the Contest.
This contest is open to residents of Canada (except residents of Quebec), over the age of 21, from the contest starting date to the date of the draw, excluding: (i) employees of the Sponsors, their affiliates or licensees, their advertising and promotional agencies, or persons with whom any of the above are domiciled.
3. HOW TO ENTER:
Online ballot available at
www.travelcuts.com. No purchase necessary. Limit of one entry per person for the duration of the contest period.
4. PRIZES:
One Grand Prize will be awarded consisting of return economy flights for two (2) from 1 of 5 international gateways (Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Halifax) to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; 7 days for 2 Brazil Tall Ship Sailing Adventure (as outlined on
www.travelcuts.com; land transfer from Rio de Janeiro to Paraty. Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is CAD$5440.00
The Grand Prize winner is responsible for arranging all transport to and from the airport in Canada and the costs therefore. The Grand Prize winner is responsible for all additional expenses, including, but not limited to: (i) additional accommodation and meals not included in ‘Brazil Tall Ship Sailing Adventure’; (ii) all airline, government, or weekend taxes or surcharges applicable to the airfare or tour prizes; (iii) charges for use of telephone, internet or facsimile; (iv) hotel incidentals; (v) travel insurance; (vi) spending money, and (vii) additional land transfers not identified as part of this prize. The prizewinner is responsible for arranging any necessary travel documents (passport, visas, etc.).
Due to restrictions on this airfare, United Airlines' tickets are non-endorsable and non-changeable. Should your United Airlines flight be delayed or cancelled, United Airlines may offer to put you on another airline. This ticket does not allow endorsements to other airlines, therefore, you must decline any offer to be moved to another airline. Travel CUTS and it's sponsors assume no responsibility for additional charges that may apply, should you accept an offer to be moved to another airline. Should you change your flights to a carrier other than United Airlines, Travel CUTS reserves the right to charge your credit card additional costs that result in such a change of airline, which could take place up to six months after your return.
Prize travel provided by Travel CUTS is subject to blackouts, availability and must be booked and travel completed between October 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008. Failure to meet these deadlines will result in the forfeiture of the prize; no exceptions allowed.
5. HOW TO WIN:
A random draw for the Grand Prize will take place on September 14, 2007 at approximately 12:00 p.m. EST in Toronto by Travel CUTS at their head offices at 45 Charles St East, Suite 200, Toronto, Ontario, M4Y 1S2, from all eligible entries received. The selected winners will be notified by phone or e-mail within 10 business days of the draw and presented with a prize-winning letter outlining how the prize can be claimed. In the event that a selected winner does not comply with these contest rules and regulations, or if a selected winner cannot be contacted within 10 business days of the draw, an alternate winner will be selected from the remaining eligible entries. The chances of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received. Decisions of the contest judges are final. No contact or correspondence will be entered into except with the selected winner. All components of the Prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The winner will be required to answer a skill-testing question.
The Grand Prize winner (who is over the age of 21) and traveling companion must sign, a standard form releasing the Sponsors from any and all liability arising out of, pursuant to, or as a result of the carrying out of the Grand Prize, including liability arising from the acceptance of the Grand Prize as awarded and confirming compliance with these contest rules and regulations. The prize winners traveling companion must be over the age of 12. Other minor age restrictions may apply. It is the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner to ensure that all necessary travel documents are in order, prior to departure.
6. OTHER RULES:
This contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations. This offer is void where prohibited by law.
By entering the contest, the selected winning entrant consents to the use of his/her name, city of residence, photograph, voice and/or image on video tape for publicity purposes solely with respect to this contest, in all mediums carried out by the Sponsors and their respective advertising and promotional agencies, without payment or compensation.
The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the contest in the event that it becomes infected by a computer virus or is otherwise technically impaired.
The Sponsor will not bear any liability for: (i) the loss, theft, delay or destruction of any contest entries (ii) the loss, theft or misuse of the prize; or (iii) any property damage, personal injury or misfortune in any way attributable to this contest or the prizes (including injury or damage to any telephone network or lines, on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software).
The Sponsor reserves the right to: (i) substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value; and (ii) terminate or withdraw this contest at any time, for any reason whatsoever.
