There are tones of freebies that you need to print and I didn't realize how valuable my printer really is until I ran out of ink about a month ago.
Here are a few tips about printing your own freebies
Many are many coupons for saving money but there are actually a few for totally free items. There was one for a free tube of Aquafresh tooth paste a little while ago, and just today I printed one for a free pasta or desert at Boston pizza and don't forget the entertainment savers coupons just to name a few.
Printers are not all that expensive, I have actually seen them for 20 bucks at wal*mart. Are you just out of ink? there are a lot of places you can refill your ink cartridge for under 15 bucks.
You do not need colour ink for the print outs. black only will do fine and this will save you money when you refill your printer
Another way to save the ink for yourself is to set the print job to "fast draft" and black and white and you will be able to print hundreds of coupons and other things.
Need paper? I find sometimes when I print one page just has a little bit of writing on it recycle that piece and use the other side to print the rest of the coupon on.
A neat tip about printers, to be sure you do not waste paper take all but one sheet out of the printer. if the first sheet does not have the coupon (sometimes it prints some info about the page) normally it will grab a second sheet, but it won't this time because after printing the first page it will be out of paper. just put the page back into the printer and press continue (usuallya flashing yellow button on the printer but every printer is difirent) and print the rest of the document on the other side. this will insure that you do not use more than one piece of paper!
You can also recysle any paper you have around that is lank on one side. the colour does not matter. Maybe you got a letter the came with another freebie or your kid scribbled on something, you can use any paper you like for print outs.
You can usually print multiple coupons even though usually it says you can not on the web page. after you click print it will often ask how you would like to print, for example, colour, black and white, fast draft or best copy. Best of all it will ask how many copies you would like to print. this can be any amount!
I made 2 copies of a coupon for Boston pizza today. my coupon expires on the 12th so I figured I would get a free lunch today and free dinner tomorrow. my lunch today was normaly priced at 12 bucks and the same for tomorrow's dinner so i will save 24 dollars.
Do you also have a scanner? some printers have a scanner built in or maybe you have a scanner separate from the printer, either will work great. if you need more copies of a coupon but do not have access to the website anymore or if the box asking for how many coppies did not come up you can scan the image and reprint it again. May not work with other coupons but this works with printed coupons very nicely. This also works if you are using a photo copier. For example the entertainment savers coupons will only let you print 4 times a month but if there is a coupon you like you can scan (or photocopy) it and use it as many times as you like.
With just a little bit of image editing skills you can save some paper and have extra copies of coupons. I once printed a coupon for free tooth paste and saw that the coupon was very small, only about a quarter of the page. Since I was unable to reprint the coupon because of limitations on the website I scanned the coupon and with MS paint (it's the art program that comes with your computer) I simply copied the image 4 times on the same page and printed that sheet. cut out the coupons and now I had 5 coupons for free toothpaste. over the next 5 weeks, every time I went to the store I grabbed another free toothpaste saving about 15 bucks! (5 tubes at 3 bucks each)
In regards to photo editing, it is posible to change coupons. (name of the person that can use it, expiry date ect) please do not do this because when the store tries to give to coupon to the manufacturer so that they dont lose money on the sale the company will not accept it and that store will probably make a policy about not accepting printed coupons. this sucks for everyone so be responcible with edits.
Well I hope this helped and I hope everyone puts their printer to good use.
