Almost everyone that I work with has this game in some version or another and they all rave about it everyday! Their ages range from 18-mid 30's and it seems that it is a good game for all age groups. You don't need to know how to play guitar to play this game and there are different skill lvls for all to try. Apparently on XBox live (i believe), there is also a way to try and beat the creator(s) of the game. A couple of my co-workers have accomplished this and it gives great bragging rights.

As fas I know there are also a couple of styles of guitars that you can get for this, but don't know how that impacts the game play. You can also look into getting a guitar bag to store the guitar in.

Do make sure that you know which console you need the game for as that will impact which version you will be able to get. Good luck on your shopping and I'm sure your son will enjoy anything you get him!!

Merry Christmas!
