Contest entries will be accepted beginning 9:01am EST Friday November 16, 2007 ending at 9:01am EST Friday, January 11, 2008 (“Contest Period”). To enter the Contest, entrants must either be an existing member of the SCENE loyalty program (“SCENE”) or they must become a member within the Contest Period and maintain their SCENE membership through to the conclusion of the Contest Period. To become a SCENE member, guests must follow the enrolment steps outlined on www.scene.ca . To enter the Contest, members must complete the Golden Compass Challenge on www.goldencompasschallenge.com . Members will be able to select from thirty-six (36) symbols and match the order of the Alethiometer’s initial symbol sequence. Members will earn one (1) entry for successfully matching one (1) sequence. There will be a maximum of one (1) entry per contestant. The odds of winning will depend on the total number of entries received. 2. Prizes:

- There are thirty (30) prizes consisting of 500 SCENE points each awarded to members SCENE membership accounts

All Prizes are subject to change and can be substituted at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.
The Prizes are as described, are not transferable, and cannot be substituted or exchanged for cash or any other prize. The Prizes are non-refundable, non-saleable and must be accepted as awarded. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to make substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of unavailability of all or part of the Prizes for any reason whatsoever.
3. Prize drawing:
Sponsor will select in a random drawing in Toronto, Ontario at 11:00am EST on Monday, January 14, 2008, the potential Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize winners. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize winners by telephone or email up to three (3) times during business hours between Monday, January 14, 2008 and Friday, January 18, 2008 after which, alternate potential Grand Prize, Secondary Prize or Tertiary Prize winners will be chosen. This process shall continue until the winners are selected. If you are eligible to be the Grand Prize, Secondary and Tertiary Prize winners, you must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by phone or in writing and sign a declaration confirming understanding of, compliance with and acceptance of the Contest rules and acceptance of the Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize as awarded and a release of all liability satisfactory to the Sponsor before being declared the Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize winner. Sponsor must receive the declaration and release forms by February 29, 2008 from the potential Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize winners or the potential winners will be disqualified and will not receive the Grand Prize, Secondary Prize or Tertiary Prize.

Contest is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of 14 as of November16, 2007.Sponsor reserves the right to verify the age of the selected Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize winners and without verification to the sole satisfaction of Sponsor, to deny entry to that entrant.

not open to employees and those domiciled with employees of Cineplex Entertainment LP (“
Cineplex”), SCENE LP (“SCENE”), The Bank of Nova Scotia (“
Scotiabank”), and Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. (“
Alliance”) or any of their respective parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, licensees or advertising and promotional agencies. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the potential Grand Prize, Secondary Prize and Tertiary Prize winners are not employees (or domiciled with employees) of Cineplex, Scotiabank and Alliance or any of their respective parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, licensees or advertising and promotional agencies, and without verification to the sole satisfaction of Sponsor, to deny entry to that entrant.
