Joining the Double Day book club was one of the worst mistakes that I ever made. I love to read and own hundreds of books so it was only natural to want to join a book club. I got the free books and agreed to buy more, but was not impressed with their service. When you sign up it says that you can go on their website and agree to have the "book of the month" sent to you or not depending on whether it is a book you would like. I tried this and twice was sent the book that I had said I did not want. I sent the books back, and thought that would be enough. I then get a letter in the mail saying that my account is overdue and I owe for these books that I had sent back. I let them know that I sent them back, they said that it didn't matter, I owed for them as I had not declined them. I replied that I had in fact declined the books and received them anyway, and did not owe for them because I had sent them back. I never received a reply after this, but kept getting account past due notices in the mail. Eventually I paid the account out because I was tired of arguing with them about it. I now tell everyone I know that this is the worst book club in the world to join, to much hassle and headache. I am not the only one who has had problems with them, other members of my family joined with pretty much the same results. Beware!
