This might put a damper on some of the US based blog contests:

The government or some other crap that deals with the government wants to regulate them due to the fact that many people do not disclose that they have received the product free, so they post a biased review on their blogs which might lead to something else.. I can't remember anymore really.

They are quite aware & said several people have already fallen victim to this fraud. The e-mail asks for personal information such as full name, address, fax number, phone number etc. The police told me the next step in the scam is to ask for banking information to send the prize of $820 000.00 pounds (UK currency) to your account. The police recommended just deleting the e-mail, as they are already investigating it, & do not need to be contacted unless you've been taken in by the scam.
I only use this site to get my contest links, so I'm not sure which contest link was the scam to get my e-mail address, but I just wanted to warn all of you, since the letter seems very legitimate (except for the part where they tell you not to tell anyone you've won, in case it causes a double claim on your prize) hahaha. Anyway, happy contesting & be safe.
Thanks I appreciate this had a verry similar incident but reported it to the bank. Greay heads up

Ok i will probably be unpopular for saying this but more people that use this site regulary need to help post contests,as you might have noticed there have been hardly any post's because the same people keep posting and do all the work and it does take alot of time and usually the person running the site does alot of posting but on this site thats not the case, and also people must check if their contest has been posted!please if we all help out maybe we will get the people who did all the posting to come back to this site! Let's all work together and if it dosn't work well at least we tried. Does anyone know if happycappy still runs this site? Haven't seen her name or most of the moderators except one or two, am i blind?

When I look at how many contests are ending in September 2009 (a huge number of the dailies and lots of the weekly & once only), I am looking forward to seeing all of the wins that everyone gets mid Sept to the end of Oct. It should be a really good time for winning. Good luck everyone and I hope that all of you have some big and little wins in your near future.

I wasn't sure what I was doing when I posted the warning about Yahoo/MSN, but thanks for putting it in the right spot for me.

I have a couple of questions..........I've only been contesting for about 6 or 7 weeks, so far all I've won is advanced screening movie tickets a couple of times. I've been entering alot of contests & multiple times when it's allowed, (dailies) but was wondering how often someone who contests daily, wins, & how often it's a fairly large win (something worth over $100). And has anyone here ever won on contests like Sweet Piggy or New Woman online? I wasn't sure if it was worth the time to enter them.

I also wanted to say, this is the best contest/freebie site I've found, & the only one I look at multiple times a day. I've checked out several others, but this one had the best information, was best organized & is easy to use & to navigate. Thanks for running such an awesome site, I've sent several friends here already.

Welcome and good luck to you. Can't help you with those sites as I do not enter them.

I have been consistently entering contests for almost 10 months now. Most of the prizes have been $50 or less. In 10 months I have won about $1,500 worth of prizes. The 2 biggest were a weekend in the wine area in Niagara ($850) and a picnic prize package ($315) with a variety of things in it.

Make sure you enter local contests and ones for your province since fewer people enter. I have had a lot of luck with instant win contests (smaller things) so if you like the prizes try those. I have won with once only entries as well as dailies. I have not had a huge win yet but things are really picking up in terms of the frequency of my wins. It takes months before you start to win so do not get discouraged. Remember that many of the contests you are entering are at least 1 to 3 months in length and sometimes longer so it is a long time before you find out if you won.

Other good contest web sites are contestgirl.com, cool beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep, pricedealnetwork, and smartbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep. I also like lastchancecontests.com since it notes what is finishing in the next few days. If you are just starting this will flag a lot of the once only entries that are finishing (the contest could have been running for ages so it is difficult to look at all the history but it will definitely help you.) Good luck and I hope to see your win announcements soon.

For some reason what I am typing is not coming out. For the word that is missing think of the name of the Vancouver NHL team and you will have the full website name.
