Once Only Word Cup

Hey everyone,

I thought I'd let everyone know about a word contest starting in December that while is not a typical contest, is another way to earn prizes and have fun. It's called the Word Cup and here is a blurb taken from their website:

"Is your dictionary sporting a well-worn look? Does learning new words thrill you? Readers, writers and word lovers from all over the world are invited to try out for Word Cup, our new online English vocabulary championship!"

Prizes are awarded in three age categories:

- 14-30 years
- 31-50 years
- 51 and older

The prize list is very extensive and top prize is $10,000 (see the website for the full prize list)

Cost: Participation is free!

Location: Online. All three Word Cup rounds take place on the Internet, with increasing levels of supervision.

Who can participate? Everyone who is 14 years or older on January 1, 2010.
