No Coupon Stacking in Ontario! why?

I googled everywhere and called a variety of stores and no one allows coupon stacking in Ontario !! Why? What i don't understand is that, when they received coupons from the customers, they're suppose to send them in to the manufacturer right? And from there, the manufacturer reimburses them with the money right???

If this is right, then why do stores have problems accepting coupons?? I mean, if they are going to get the money back, then why have a problem taking the coupons? They are not losing anything from their own pocket !!! I really wish things would change in Ontario! In these hard times, it would really help !!

AND if the manufacturer has a problem refunding money to the stores, then maybe they shouldn't offer the coupons! Who agrees with me ..

Its usually on the coupon One per item or one per purchase. The stores have to follow the rules of the coupon.

The one per purchase will get ya every time - certainly does me!

I know from a conversation I once had with a head cashier, that here in Canada Grocery Stores are periodically audited and they must provide sales records that verify purchases for the coupons used. Not too sure how it all works on their end (the grocery stores) but according to the lady I spoke to they can get in some pretty deep doo-doo if take in more coupons than allowed for a single product. According to her the rules are completely different here in Canada and more people/boards are watching what they do. I think since the TLC Extreme couponing show has exposed what goes on in the USA you just see some changes happening there too. I have heard "rumors" and "rumblings" that coupon policies are up for review all over the USA. Best tip I can pass on...
Get to know your cashier, become her friend and she will do her best to work with you. Some don't even care if you buy the specified type or flavour, just as long as it is the right Brand and size.
