Banana Split Cake 1 box devil's food cake mix
2 ripe bananas
1 jar of maraschino cherries
1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
1 jar of your favorite sundae topping (I like caramel or butterscotch)
1 big tub of cool whip
Bake cake as directed. Allow it to cool and then cut it in half lengthwise to make it a layer cake
Chop up cherries and bananas and mix with pineapple and mix with some of the whipped cream. Use a spatula to spread this mixture on the bottom layer.
Put the top layer of cake on and use a small dowel or the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake. Make sure to poke all the way through.
Pour sundae topping over the whole cake-it will seep down into the holes.
Finally, frost the cake with the rest of the whip cream and decorate as desired. |
