2/3 cups evaporated Milk, add 1/3 cup at a time 6 ozs. chocolate chips(I have used half chocolate chips and half peanut butter chips, was really good) 1 box German chocolate cake mix 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 package caramels, melted pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 9x13 pan melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk(do this first and set aside) combine cake mix, melted butter, nuts and rest of evaporated milk When mixed, put in pan and pat down like a crust (use less than half of the mix) Bake this bottom layer for 6 minutes Sprinkle chocolate chips over bottom layer pour caramels over chocolate chips Spoon rest of batter over caramels. (using palm of hand) bake entire mixture another 15-18 minutes Let cool ice with favorite chocolate icing cut into small squares
