| Smart Beaver | Hi everyone.. so I love shopping with coupons and love SAVING $$$ EVEN MORE. I notice on some US shows that they mention some grocery stores doubling the amount of the coupons... ex: if our coupons was for $.60 double it would be $1.20. Does any anyone know of any Canadain Grocery/Department stores that double coupons? Thanks! |

| Smart Beaver | I wish they did. Anyone catch that Oprah rerun yesterday with the coupon mom that got a whole cart of groceries for $37? She saved something like 71%. Smart shopper! |

| Junior Beaver | I just watched the Oprah episode on my DVR and was wondering this exact thing...I do live in a border town and the state of Michigan is literally 10 minutes away. The store that the coupon lady was shopping at was Meijer...one of my faves...BUT you actually have to ask the cashier to double the coupon. Not news that they would readily pass on....maybe Canadian stores are the same way... I will be doing groceries tomorrow...no harm in asking... |

| Diva Beaver | OMG double coupons would be AWESOME! I have only ever heard of it being done in the states. I am hoping that someone on here will post about it though. I was telling the story recently of the time I went to return a damaged pair of shoes at Payless. They had gone on sale since I purchased them and even though i was only trying to exchange them for the same exact pair they actually exchanged the shoes and gave me cash back! I was like "What? You're trying to give me cash back?" The clerk explained that if an item goes on advertised sale within a certain time of you purchasing it at full price, they will refund the difference! So, when I told my MIL this story she said that a lot of stores do this but it is unadvertised. Apparently Canadian Tire does this. I have never followed up but if anyone gets the chance please give it a go and let us know! MIL says you just have to have the original receipt and in the case of canadian tire she thought you had 7 days. Also, sorry for the long post but I saw at wal-mart the other day that they will price match any advertised price for identical items. Has anyone ever taken advantage of this? Sounds great!

| Junior Beaver | So if we don't know if stores double coupons here in Canada ( I also live about 1/2 hour from the border) but don't really want to have to cross border shop if I don't have too, does anyone know of Canadian Store that allow coupon stacking? Oh and yes Canadian tire will refund the difference if something goes on sale don't know how many days though, I've done the same at Shoppers Drugmart and for some Reason I think that Zellers also will refund the difference on items as well |

| Smart Beaver | MATCHING AD'SActually I match ad's ALL THE TIME.. Walmart, Zellers, Home Depot, Rona (I think) and Cdn Tire does Match Ad's. I wonder who else? I was in Walmart yesterday & they match 2 Zeller's Ad's... 1 for 24 case of water for $2.47 (wamlart price was 3.47) and Shaving cream for $1.97 (walmart price was around 3.00). PLUS I had coupons for the saving cream... 1 $2.00 and 1 $1.00 so I got 2 bottles of shaving cream for $.95. SWEET!!! It's great that companies match ad's, since it saves you on the car gas and YOUR time to go to different places. Since I have a baby I don't have time to end to a TON of differnet places just to get a deal. But really who has the time anyway.. baby or not. ![]() PRICE ADJUSTMENT Ya, alway watch out for items that are marked down once you purchase an item. I think a company can do a price adjustment within 14 day of purchase date. I've done this soooo many times... you just have to make sure you keep your receipt! | Diva Beaver | I just googled "Double coupon" Canada and someone on another forum says that "London drugs will let you stack them" What is stacking? Too bad there's no london drugs out here (ont) is there? We just moved back from BC also, someone else mentioned that they used double coupons on double coupon day at Sobey's in Brandon Manitoba but I have no idea how old that post was... Perhaps I will call Sobeys and inquire!

| Pick and chooser | stacking coupons is when, for example, you want to buy shampoo. Loreal is 4.00 (example) You have a coupon from the manufacturer for $1 off and shoppers has a coupon for $0.50 on the same product and maybe you see another coupon for another $0.50 in the newspaper You can go to london drugs and use all three coupons at the same time and get $2 off the product. Also, some stores take competitor coupons (coupons from other stores or resturants) and some take expired coupons. My hubby tried to use some coupons for Mcdonalds the day they expired and the person at the till said that they will take them if they are expired and then gave my hubby another stack of coupons to use.

| Venusflytrap44 | london drugs matches flyer prices and matches prices that lower within a month if it is advertised in their flyer(no instore specials) stacking at london drugs is up to 6 different coupons for the same item (not identical coupons)or less if it makes the item free. this is not advertised but recognized in every location |

| Smart Beaver | Hi everyone.. I don't know if you know/heard of The Code of Practice (atleast that's what I think it's called). It's basically when you cash an item out and the item rings up higher then the shelve/advertised price you get it for free if the item is under $10.00 or if the item is over $10.00, you get $10.00 off the item. :spot: I know Walmart does this for sure.. since I have mentioned to the Cashier when the item was rang in higher them the shelve/advertised price. I've gotten socks and shampoo for free. Watch the shelve price esp if the item is on clerence... sometimes the item gets missed scanning when the staff are marking dow the prices. When you go to Walmart (and any other grocey place for that fact) next to the cash on the customer side it's a little advertisment of it. You need to mention the Code of Practice if you see the item ring higher. Good Luck! |

![]() | Yeah, The Scanning Code of Practice is great. Most of the time the cashier has no idea what I am talking about when I mention it. Stores that I know that do it are: Metro Food Basics Shoppers Drug Mart No Frills Wal-Mart

Any store that has a return policy will do this. As long as it's within the allotted time. So if there is a 30 day return policy, then you have 30 days to do it. I have yet to see a store that won't. And if they refuse then you say "okay I'd like to return this, I've changed my mind" As soon as the return goes through you repurchase. Stores know that people will do this which is why they've all started allowing price adjustments. What I do is I have 3 envelopes at home for receipts. Right now one says "February" one says "January" and one says "December" As soon as March 1st comes I throw out December. That way I always have my receipts in case of price adjustment, or returns or anything like that. | |
