Default All about contesting - Inquiring minds want to know!

Crackercrumb made a poll asking how many sweeps do you enter daily and it really got me thinking about contesting. (I voted in the poll too!)

I would like to hear about your contesting experiences! What is your contesting style? How long have you been contesting? What are your biggest wins? Do you have any tips? I really want to know these types of things.

I've been doing this for 8 years now, since my first son was born. We were living in Cowichan B.C. and our family was having trouble making ends meet. One day we ran out of something (shampoo?) and I got the idea to go online and see if I could get any free samples so that maybe we could use them in the future . And a hobby was born!

At first my husband thought I was a weirdo but once he started getting a few cool things I signed him up for he changed his mind. For the most part I only enter instant win and single entry contests. That way I figure my chances are as good as any one elses. I do enter dailies sometimes (cause you can't win it if you aren't in it) but I get discouraged that there are many people out there entering daily and maybe my chances aren't so good!

I think the biggest win I ever had was an overnight at a hotel about two hours away that came with some free passes to a play and dinner.

I haven't won anything in like, a year but in the last three months it has picked up, we won IMAX passes, a kids cookbook and a hundred dollar grocery prize. Woo hooo!

I've had the most success with local contests. I guess you have much better chances then. Also, in all my years I have only ever received one t-shirt, from DeWalt. My DH wears it to work

so please share your experience with me/us. This hobby/addiction? we share is really quite interesting and I want to know more about you guys!!

hey neighbor i am in duncan just down the road well i think your odds are actually better in the dailies if you enter daily seems to be that is where you win the most everyone loves instant wins of course but mostly it is just perserverence and how much time you have or how much time you want to spend doing it entering as many as i do i usually have something in the mail everyday wether it is a freebie or a post office things saying go pick something up they are not always large things but fun and about 2 to 3 times a month you win something substantially bigger sometimes way bigger i am still hoping for a car or a laptop but as you can see this month a few computers were won some people are highly organized and others just wing it you just do what works best for you and i foudn that the longer i am at it the more i learn and the easier and faster it gets although if i went away for the weekend i thingk my email box would explode it would be soo full one of the hazards of the game well people will have good suggestions for you i am sure and if you look in previous posts many have asked similar questions and you may find some good stuff there too happy contesting

Hey ..I have been entering contest since 2003..hubby hated the time I spent on the computer until I started winning,,,we have been on 2 trips now,,,one to the Yukon last year and one to Fairmont Chateau in Lake Louise a few years ago...I have won everything from Gift baskets, to concert tickets, to cash,,and my winnings to date now total more the $18000. and now my hubby doesn't say too much about the time I spend on the computer entering contest...
Good Luck
