Chat The Day Away!

Hi everyone! This will be our new, chat the day away thread since our month long chat to win has come to an end. We will be on the lookout for some new sponsors and possibly be able to hold another chat to win again in the future!

We have no rules in this thread, excepet to remain kind and curtious to fellow members. Double posting is ok, however, please do not do it constantly, if there's something you forgot to say, simply edit your post

That being said, happy May 1st! How's the weather where you're at? It's cloudy, but nice here, looks like it might rain later, but we'll see. Supposed to hit +17 as well. My day started off sort of rushed. Alyssa was up at 430 when 5littlemonkeys woke up, but remained quiet and happy. Then at 5am, she decided she wasn't happy and was going to cry and scream . So, into bed with me she went, I nursed her and we both fell back asleep - till 8am!! My oldest decided then was a good time to make noise in his room, thus, waking me up. I didn't even hear the 6:30am radio alarm go off, usually I do, guess I was just really tired. So I had to drive the kids to school as Heather obviously missed her bus. I texted 5littlemonkeys to see if he wanted a coffee, so I brought him one, along with a breakfast sandwich since at that point, their work day hadn't even started - long story lol. So needless to say, they're a couple hours behind schedule today, but oh well. It's good for the pay cheque next Friday, but not so good for him, as he's so tired by the end of the week.

Good morning everyone, almost afternoon!


I just woke up right now, didn't sleep too well. Lots of tossing and turning.

The weather over here is an overcast and looks like it might rain however its not supposed to unless the weather has been changed again.

Aww, I'm glad you got to sleep in a bit BloomingRose! Looks like you're always so busy and on the go. I'm sure 5littlemonkeys was just absolutely thrilled to see you at work with coffee and breakfast. ^^

It really is hard to work so many hours even though its good for the paycheck. My Mom is currently working 15-16 hour shifts and it just breaks my heart because I no longer get to spend much time with her as she works some weekends too. Although it keeps the family running as my Dad is currently unemployed, its definitely very hard when she only gets a couple hours of sleep before her next shift.

I can't wait to chat the day away! My fingers are all dusted off!

Good morning! I sure did miss chatting first thing this morning! LOL I guess it has become habit over this last month.

It is raining here and over the night which should green up the grass. I might just dress up the kids in rain gear and get them out anyway.

I just went out and bought my mom a birthday cake. We're going to be going out to dinner tonight and a cute little restaurant overlooking the water. I also had to drop my car off the get inspected and the tires changed. The weather is overcast here, but nothing to complain about

Here's hoping everyone has a great day! I'm going to get off the computer for a bit, Alyssa will be up shortly I"m sure for lunch and playtime, and I'm kinda hungry myself. My net keeps losing some of it's strength, not sure what's with that, but maybe I'll watch some tv or something. That way, if it goes down, I won't know LOL.

Congrats again to both Ljaned and Keeper on their wins from the chat to win! Definately Keepers lucky month, as she also won one of the random giveaways we had as well! Will check back in later on. Oh and I'm starting to see a little bit of blue sky here and there through the clouds, maybe it won't rain after all!

EDIT: Still looking for 1 Astroids player and 5 Snake players for the Arcade tournaments. Let's see if we can't get at least one of those filled by the end of today . Gotta make 5littlemonkeys do some work ya know

BloomingRose: Oh wow! Congratulations! That sounds amazing BloomingRose. I'm thinking about getting my Mom a digital camera or camcorder for Mother's Day as we currently don't have one. There are always moments when she wants to take pictures but she never has anything so she uses the camera on her phone. xD And yes, CFS is a wonderful website and I am so glad that I came across it when I did. I have always won from CFS and been very fortunate!

Ooh, Happy Birthday to your Mom! I sure hope she has a beautiful day and that you are all able to enjoy it out by the water without any rain. That is just such a lovely idea. I'm sure she'll appreciate it very much!

Weather here is not nice at all. Rain/wind and chilly outside. Plus side there is a chance of a T-storm this afternoon!

I have to wait on the baking til Hubs gets home at lunch with some cooking spray then its off to make banana muffins/loaves/squares. I have a bunch of frozen bananas in the freezer so might as well use them up!

I was hoping to have some cookies done by now but weather isn't playing fair and my body is a little crusty today. Tai Chi stretches haven't helped either which sucks - so for now i'm here chatting, drinking coffee and smoking til i get my big lily white butt off the chair :0)

I bought some graham crackers on the weekend and wanna try making pb balls with crushed crackers instead of crispies and i wanna try making gummy worms soon too. And don't get me started on the packs of tart shells i got :0)

Asirk - my daughter had sensitivities to processed foods/artificial colors/flavors so i had to make everything instead of buying it and it just stuck. She hasn't lived with me for a long time now (long long story) but i still bake when i can and the boys love it too.

I need some chocolate frosting, then I can make some cake. :3

I am just going to go for a bit. Just need to clean up my room and do some laundry although I'll pop by later for sure.

Wendy: That's too bad that your daughter has allergies, but I would love having home baked food more often. We try to make things as often as possible, but processed food is so much faster and convenient unfortunately. I'm sure your boys must love having you make them yummy food

Looking for a caramel candy recipe here - Son just came home from school for lunch and asked if i could make some soon. Found a nice and simple one here so might have to give it a go this week too cause we all LOVE caramel! Will let you know how it turns out :0)
