What are everyone's plans for the weekend?? Im heading out camping this weekend, this time at Ontario Provincial Park Bonnechere, at least this time there won't be a fire ban lol!!! I hope everyone has an amazing day and weekend

@Keeper - Thanks Keeper! My animals are my fur babies and i truly love them all and do my best to make sure they are taken care of properly (even though they sometimes hates the things i gotta do)

Our weather has been odd you're right! I guess there were even tornado warnings in the city that i live near. If it isn't hot horrid temps we are getting weird and crazy storms and the wind has be crazy! We never use to have a lot of wind.....odd breezes but not bad wind like Lethbridge does but this year i've had so many down branches from the wind it'll take all day for Hubs to burn the pile thats been growing in the backyard!

@tgordon613 - No big plans for my weekend other than a little cleaning, a little yard work and some grocery shopping. I'm a very mellow type of person now a days and prefer staying home. I hope you and your family have a wonderful camping trip and the bugs/weather aren't bad!

Well that's me for now - off to do another little chores so i can justify being a lazy bum this afternoon!

*Hugs* I can only imagine. Pets are just like children.
I think if I ever got a dog I'd spoil it rotten. x) We need more good owners like you!

And yes, I was watching the news and they were showing parts of Alberta that had severe weather such as insane rain, lightening, gusty winds, I think even hail in some areas. There is just freaky weather everywhere. With the amount of rain, there were parts of Toronto that were flooded where water was getting into the engines of the cars because the water levels were too high. I have never heard of anything like it in Toronto. It was so absurd!

Afternoon

Just popping in for a quicky before i go take a rest. Been up since 4am thanks to Hubs getting home really late from a "boys" night. He just sat around at a guys house playing games.

Managed to get a bit of baking in to day and made an apple strawberry pie which turned out yummy. I still have apples on the tree but i think other than maybe one more pie ot batch of apple fritters or muffins and thats all i'll be doing. My cucumber and tomato plants still are struggling along but i've not been able to get anything from them yet. My pepper plants are up and green leafy things but by the time i see a pepper it'll probably be October. You'd think with all the sun and heat we had this year the veggies would have been producing like crazy but they sure aren't. My apple tree produced a lot of apples but for the first time in the 7 yrs i've been here they were little apples. Has anyone else noticed this issue with their gardens?

Hello everyone!


Hope you're all doing well and having a great week so far.
I apologize for missing in action lately. Just been really busy, especially with back to school just around the corner. Life's just been sort of hectic but sort of in a good way.

Over the weekend, I went to help out for one day at this event called 'Tough Mudder'.
I'm sure you all may have heard of it. I personally had not until a few days before the event actually started but supposedly its a huge thing and was on the news as well. People had come from all over, as far as Alberta and New York City and follow this event to test their stamina and physical abilities. Its where adrenaline junkies test their strength and physical abilities by doing obstacle courses designed by the British military. I got paid to work for the day so it was all good and I got to see a ton of great eye candy, but the hours were definitely very long. I was up at 3am and it took about 2 hours to get to the event and then we worked and worked for 16 hours, although I have to admit I got the easy job and got to enjoy the whole event.

Hope everyone been having a good week. Our Internets been out for the last few weeks which has sucked big time. Just finally got switched over to a new provider yesterday so hopefully we have a smoother run with this company.

@Keeper People have been talking about Tough Mudder evvverywhere. I'm a little jealous you got to work one :p. What did they have you doing? My boyfriend is dying to participate in one of their events.

Hey Aly!

Haha, it was actually a great experience.
I absolutely loved it and would do it again. The pay was so good.
I was actually working as security so I pretty much didn't have to do anything for more than half the day. I got to watch and enjoy the event. At the end, I was working at bag drop off where we were just giving everyone's bags back to the participants. Seems easy but when you have 17.000 bags and have to look for the correct tag and number, it gets a bit hectic especially when you have large line ups and everyone is just tired and wants to go home.

Hello everyone, I haven't been on much lately because I'm trying to amp up my job hunt so I joined a job service centre.
Today I went and got another cat I had kinda been looking for one as my Magnum is getting clingy, I can't even go outside without him meowing at the door until I come back in. I thought another cat might keep him company since he used to live with another one before we adopted him.
Her name is Bella, she is 8 years old, spayed and declawed (she came that way) she's used to other cats because she used to have a buddy. Her owner was giving her up because he has health issues and his girlfriend recently left him.
She's very cute but I can't get close enough to her yet to take a pic without her hissing, growling and basically screaming at me but she's in a room by herself with all she needs and with some time a patience I'm sure she'll come around.
I've never had more than one cat at a time so this is new to me.
Also the leaves here are starting to turn color and that makes me sad as it's still only August
@Keeper that event sounds like fun I'm not in any way athletically inclined so I'd suck at it but I have dreams

Been a busy week here but i did my second twitter party and won. Lots of appointments all week too. Yesterday was the wrost of it. Had a bone scan and x rays done which normally aren't a big deal but they had me lay flat for 40 mins for the scan which i'm unable to do so needless to say pain has been high since yesterday! Today is just occupational and physio therapy this afternoon and we have cool temps (which is nice) and chances of storms (not so nice) and i hope that is it!

This weekend i HAVE to get the stuff my kid needs for back to school as its soooo close (very exciting for me!) I've been bad at putting it off over the summer as i hate shopping in stores cause ppl tend to hit me with carts or bump me or my cane and i can get testy to say the least! LOL

Seems very peaceful where they are and I am loving the scenery.

Wendy: I hope you are feeling better now. ^^ Aww, that is just so rude of people. Some shoppers have no common courtesy. *Shakes head* I don't understand why people are so rude, mind you I get in a bad mood when I can't find clothes that fit me when I go shopping. I'm usually only angry towards my Mom though because she likes to make stupid comments that put me down, but I'm usually never rude to other shoppers.

Speaking of shopping, I need to actually go shopping tomorrow for business clothes for when I start volunteering again as a part of my degree. These clothes will be of great use to me after I finish school as well so that's always a good sign. I just had how all of the sizes are usually petite or small. :c I have a bit of a gut and I don't like tight fitted clothing at all. I'm very self conscious. x)

@Keeper - thanks - still having a rough go but it is slowly getting better - or i hope anyway.

Been horribly hot here the last few days - hoping fall is around the corner soon and some cooler weather. Been trying to get the dead stuff out of the flower beds but seems like i do 10 mins and need a rest. Hoping by start of winter i'll get it done.

My son goes back to school tomorrow and although he isn't happy about it i am. Will be nice to have the days to myself and enjoy some quiet. For a kid he can get very loud when playing video games and i miss my quiet afternoon rest times. I think other than some more pants he is all set. Hubs took him last night to VV to get some extra t-shirts and to Zellars for shoes. He is only 13 yrs old and almost 6ft and size 13 feet.....no idea where he got it from cause his father and i are both short!

Anyway that's all the interesting and news i have so far. Hope you all are doing well and are looking forward to school as well - either as a parent or as a student!

Morning everyone.

Hope everyone is getting back into the swing of things smoothly! I've posted some nice soup recipes and a handy bread bowl recipe for the fall dinner menus. It has been pretty chilly here the last few days and i wont be surprised if the dreaded S word comes early for us.

I've been just trying to keep up and catch up around here. There is a flu going around the knocked me on my butt for 3 days so remember to wash those hands and nag the kids too! Hoping this year i remember and get in in time for a flu shot as i HATE being sick.

Well not much else to say right now - still too early and not nearly enough coffee in me yet. LOL

KEEPER - It was amazingly peaceful, our campsite was actually right on the water so we could pull the kayaks up onto our site. It was so relaxing, there were soooo many ducks too ! I could get within about 2 feet on my kayak to the ducks and ducklings... I am definitely returning next year for for longer than 2 nights
