Exclamation Disgusting SUGAR ANTS!!

I have sugar ants (little black ones) coming in from the windows and I NEED to get rid of them. I just opened my window this morning and dozens of them came swarming in! I was on a killing spree lol. So I tried black pepper, I heard it is supposed to work. I drenched my window sill and all over them and inside the frame. They dont seem too bothered by it...? I heard cornmeal works too. I tried it. I put piles all over the back of the computer desk and along the floor and that didnt stop them (that was a week or more ago) So I am desperate. I need something that is not going to harm the cats and my son also. Help please! Thanks........

You have to erase their scent trails. Follow them around until you find where they got in. Clean it with bleach. I used to get ants alot in Australia, you just can't stop the lil buggers from coming in.

20 Mule Team Borax. You can buy it in the grocery stores with the detergent. Mix half powdered sugar with the borax and sprinkle some on them. They take it back to the nest and they should be gone in a week. When you first start to see them sprinkle them. If you know the trail sprinkle the trail. I spinkle around the windows and doors.

Becareful though, toxic !

Normal salt is supposed to work also, and have heard that even soppy water works to kill them, but does not affect their nest. The trick is to get rid of the nest ...

checked the link, good info! The first line is funny though

"It is important to note that ant-proofing your home will also decrease the number of cockroaches, moths and beetles, and by extension predators like spiders"
I think I'll take my chances on that LOL

Borax works, but do NOT use it if you have pets.

Cinnamon also works for detouring ants. Make sure it is good cinnamon though..I tried it with cheap stuff and doesn't work as well.

I have used vinegar before, wash everything with white vinegar. If you know where they are coming in you can also draw a link across there path with kids chalk. They won't cross the line. This works good outside before they come in. If you locate their home turf (mine was between the patio stones) boil the kettle and pour the boiling water on the nest. You will be left with nothing but ants with their legs up in the air trying to do the backstroke.

I do know they are coming in through the window, but I dont know where the nest is. The window is in an awkward place I cant get to it from outside
