Default Does anyone here Knit?

I taught myself last year at this time because i wanted to make my youngest daughter some clothes for her favorite doll.
I was so proud of myself christmas morning when she unwrapped them. The look of pure joy on her face almost made me cry.
But that's as far as i've gotten with knitting..i can do doll hats, skirts, shalls, head bands, and blankets but have yet to make a sweater..doll or otherwise..
oh, and i've done a few dishclothes too.

My husband wants socks! i'm still afraid of socks at this point.lol
maybe this winter i'll sit down again and learn how to make something an actual person can wear, because my daughter says her dolls have enough hats now..

i have tried crochet several times over the years but in the end I always get frustrated and quit. I have made too many lopsided dishcloths to count!

My mother in law, when she was a bit younger, made some awesome Sweaters. The outside kind, fabulous, I have kept them all. They are just beautiful. I've helped knit squares for a quilt a few times, but thats as far as my talent goes :(.

i enjoy doing it once i get started but i don't think i have the patience it takes to really learn how to be awesome at it.

crotcheting seems harder than knitting to me. i can crotchet a straight line a hundred miles long but that it. lol i try anything else and it ends up as a giant knot!

i joined a knitting group (local church) and learned a few new stitches and techniques. i'd like to learn a few more complicated ones but the group was stalled at those stitches.
loop overs, 4 needles and others are stitches you cant do without paying alot of attention to.

The more you knit the better you will get. I knit and crochet. I find that knitting the simpler patterns you dont even have to look at what you are doing constantly, crochet is another matter, I have to watch constantly as the patterns are usuallly more intricate and unlike knitting there are more than 2 stitches. Just keep at it 'cause there is nothing like homemade especially, socks, sweaters and mittens too! Or homemade anything for that matter. lol
