I get these all the time..sadly i got one signed from a military person who had served in afghanistan. how dare they!

They dare. I get emails from "soldiers" all the time. I got emails from Pavarotti's "daughters" about a week after he died. Any time some dictator dies or is sent into exile for real the script will change. They know that there are greedy or desparte people out there, it is only a matter of time before they find them.

As part of my scambaiting, there was a group that managed to get a list of victims. As a group we sent out warning emails. Most people are grateful, but there have been some who think we were trying to deprive them of the riches. More often than not, we heard tales of people who had lost everything.

I get thsoe darn emails all the time its so annoying I think its horrid that anyone would try to ruin another person just to get ritch its so so mean!!!! alot of teh time its seniors that get ripped off and its not liek tehy are rich to begin with it makes meee mad sad and really really steamed!! good post though and i think your work is admirable the more of thsoe jerks that get stopped the better... if people dont watn to listen then at least you tried right??

I have won millions through these people. I cant believe they actually do this. It really is annoying it takes up space in my email and is just one more thing to get rid of. Is there anyway to stop these??

Ugh! I know how you people feel, I also get tons of emails asking me to "help" them claim billions of dollars from this unknown billionaire who just died and doesn't have any relatives. Does anyone actually believe that? 'Cause, I'm sure, if the guy's so darn rich, a couple of people would have threatened one another just to get their hands on that inheritance.

Nope. The majority of these oringinate in Africa or Asia, some in Russia. Once you get one, it is a given that your email is on a list being sold and resold among scammers.

Never leave an email address on a "guestbook" . Scammers go through them and copy the addresses, or use harvesting software. If you join boards, always check don't show email, and look and see if you can see a member list. Look to see if the email address are shown.
