Default New Cat from S.P.C.A Awesome Experience.

I was not planning on getting another cat. But anyhow I had a weird dream, and the next day the Lady that runs the S.P.C.A came to me for a donation of stuff. And Boy did I ever like her.

Most of my dealings with the Spca has been less then pleasant. It has always been about the animals, and not about the humans. Which is fine, because its an animal place, but usually the people that work there, do not relate well or interact well humans,

But this young lady, was so sociable, so outgoing, and just wanting was right for pets and humans a like. I was so impressed.

Long Story short. We have adopted a Cat named Jake, He is almost 2 years old, and is already neautered, and vaccinated.

I am picking him up this week some time.
I will post a picture when we get him.

Did your MP vote in favour or against Bill S-203?
To find out visit our website: www.wspa.ca/crueltylaw

On April 9th, 189 MPs voted in favor of passing Bill S-203 despite strong opposition from every animal welfare group in the country. This weak and ineffective bill retains all of the loopholes in our century-old law, allowing most animal abusers to slip through the cracks, unpunished. While the bill establishes stiffer penalties, it will not increase conviction rates. Currently only 1% of animal cruelty investigations result in a conviction under the Criminal Code.

However, despite the fact that this bill passed we can still encourage the government to improve animal legislation in Canada and we need your help. We need to thank the 71 MPs who voted against Bill S-203 and share our dismay and dissapointment with the 189 MPs who voted in favour of S-203. Please send a letter to your MP — you can send a letter immediately through our website at www.wspa.ca/crueltylaw.

Please take some time to personalize the template letter — personalized letters are typically more effective. When writing to MPs who voted for the bill (not our way), be persuasive and effective, but ensure that your letter is civil. Many of them said that they would support further legislation and we will need thier help in the future.

Bill S-203 allows animal abusers to escape punishment, 99 times out of 100.
Bill S-203 makes it virtually impossible to prosecute cases of neglect.
Bill S-203 gives less protection to unowned animals (wild, stray and feral animals).
Bill S-203 does not make it an offence to breed or train dogs to fight each other or to make money off of this cruelty.
Please send a letter to your MP today!
You can do this through our website at http://www.wspa.ca/crueltylaw.

Thank you for being a voice for animals,

Silia Smith
Regional Director, WSPA Canada

Forward this message to your friends and family and encourage them to take part in
