~*~ Summertime Contest!! Sandcastle Building! ~*~

Hello fellow beavers, welcome to Summer!

Here at CFS we don't have a beach to play in, or even a sandbox, for that matter. We are unable to go out and have some fun, and build cute little, or very big fancy sandcastles! This makes us all just a little bit sad.

So, I thought hey, we have many AWESOME members, who are always talking about going to the beach with their family and friends, so, why not ask THEM to build a sandcastle, take a picture and share it with all of us? Brilliant idea if I say so myself!

As I"m sure you've guessed, you're task is just that: Head on over to your local beach, or even if your kids sandbox in the backyard, and build us a sandcastle. Be as creative as you like, use decorations, flags, objects, even build some neat 3D letters that spell out CFS.Com. Whatever you fancy, just do it!

Contest begins: June 25th, 2012.
Contest ends: July 31st, 2012.

Prizes: The person with the best, most creative sandcastle/sculpture will win a prize pack filled with summertime items that you can use to play with your kids, grandkids, neices and nephews. Value will be between $30 - $50.

Depending on amount of entries, there will also be 2nd and 3rd place prizes consisting of a $10 gift card. In otherwords, if only a few of you enter, only a 1st place prize is awarded. So, get out there, have some fun, and show us what you got!

Sounds like fun! Hope I can get in some beach time this month

When we were in the Dominican this past February there were a couple of guys at the resort beside ours who spent every day out on the beach building sand sculptures. They were incredibly detailed and very cool. There were always too many people crowding around for me to get any pictures, but they were almost as impressive as the one up there ^^

Very creative, if I do say so myself. ^^

I don't know if or when I'll be heading to the beach next although I have tons of sandcastle buckets and building supplies from when my cousins came over from England and we went to the beach. I just might have to make a stop at the beach myself if no one else is up to going with me. X)

what a great idea BloomingRose. sadly i don't think i will get to a beach in July nor do i have access to a sandbox

I wish I could head to the beach sometime soon although I won't be going anytime soon, at least not now anyways. My Dad's just had surgery so I'll have to sit out for this contest however I look forward to seeing other's sand sculptures!

Ahw I would participate but we don't have any young kiddies in our family (yet). So I don't think winning the prize would be fair

Oh dear, looks like there is no sandcastles built yet and the contest is almost over, next week.

Perhaps if you changed the rules BloomingRose to get users to make a sandcastle at home using crafting/household objects, you'd get more interest and participants. I know I personally won't be going to the beach anytime soon, however I'm sure I could spare some time at home to whip up a sandcastle out of supplies I have lying around. Can use some of that junk lying around the house too. :p

Its just a friendly suggestion and I would hate for the hard work that you put into organizing this contest to go to waste. Especially since it was very creative and summer themed. ^^

Hmm. I guess it's either been too hot for people to go to the beach, or people just didn't like this contest? Maybe it was the prize offered? If anyone would like to give feedback as to why they didn't participate that would be helpful . You can even pm it to me if you prefer .

I am going to research into some other things for the next contest like this, and I will do my best to have it so that people can either do their own, OR do something virtually, and offer up prizes for both the real deal and virtual. Does that sound like a better option to something like this?

Well @BloomingRose , I'm staff so I cant enter, and I havent been to the beach yet since everyones working but this coming week people seem to be off work I really want to see some sand castles everyone! Please???

ATTENSION SANDCASTLE BUILDERS: If you havent posted your sandcastle picture yet, upload it now! you could win a PRIZE by simply posting a picture of your sandcastle!

P.S if you are having trouble posting your picture or do not know how please post that you are having trouble and/or message a staff member so we can help you out.

I would have loved to participate however unfortunately as I mentioned my father had quadruple bypass surgery so we're taking care of him at home now, so we weren't really able to leave the house.

However, I personally loved the prize that you were offering and the creativity of this contest so I have no negative feedback to give you.

I think the work that you've put into organizing this contest is phenomenal BloomingRose and I sure hope we can get some users who are able to go to the beach and participate.



PS - If you need some help brainstorming ideas for different contest ideas, I wouldn't mind helping or perhaps we can even create a forum and see what type of contests users would like to see and participate in.
