| Diva Beaver | Reading Joan Didon's Book Year if Magical Thinking for the book club (it's okay) I belong to, But really enjoying The Book of Negros by Lawrence Hill. People know I read alot, (usually a couple of books a week) so they keep asking me for suggestions, so I have kept a master list of books I really enjoyed over the years on my computer, and when someone asks I go through it and pick out what I think they would like. Sometimes I just print it out and hand it over if I don't know what they like. |

| Junior Beaver | By the way, I read an article recently on 10 things you should never buy new. I wish I could recall where I found it but... In any case, one of the things was books, and that made sense. Books are most often read only once, they really don't 'depreciate' in value, and are often sold second-hand in as good a condition as new. I'm thinking that it would be fun & economical to share our favourite authors / titles and trade them for just the cost of shipping. But that's me. My wife has accused my often of not having the character to make a buck off others. ![]()

| Learning Beaver | Mary Higgins Clark is a favourite of mine (mystery) Also Jennifer Crusie if you want some light reading with a bit of humour and of course Maeve Binchy for a good story. Right now I am reading Wisdom of Menopause...very informative for us gals approaching that time in our lives. :shockingmonkey: |
