Contestant search for CBC show

The host of the hit series The Amazing Race will be tearing across Canada next month looking for people to appear in a new reality show.

Phil Keoghan is bringing his No Opportunity Wasted series, based on his best-selling book of the same name, to the CBC after successful runs in the U.S. and New Zealand.

The 10-episode series will debut on the CBC in October.

“It’s very exciting to be able to bring this series to Canada,” Keoghan said in a release issued Tuesday.

In each half-hour episode, two people are given a chance to take a “No Opportunity Wasted” challenge in which they must set aside fears and obstacles to achieve a goal.

“Each challenger goes through a dramatic life-changing experience and the show is a huge motivator for the television audience too.

“It really gets people thinking about what they want to achieve in their own lives.”

Keoghan created the “No Opportunity Wasted” philosophy after a near-fatal scuba diving accident in his native New Zealand when he was 19 years old.

He will sign copies of his book and search for show participants at Chapters and Indigo stores across Canada starting May 8.

- May 9, 6 pm to 8 pm at Indigo, 1500 McGill College, Montreal.

- May 13, 1 pm to 3 pm at Chapters, 1225 St. Mary’s, Winnipeg.
- May 14, 6 pm to 8 pm at Chapters, 2625 Gordon, Regina.
- May 15, 6 pm to 7 pm at Chapters, 9631 MacLeod Trail, Calgary.
- May 16, 7 pm to 9 pm at Chapters, 788 Robson, Vancouver.
