Day Off,,what a joke.........
howdy CFS fans !
Yeh ,,some day off from work this turned out to be,,,,Geesh first had to get up early,,couldn't even sleep in...then had to drive to Vernon to the butchers to pick up our moose meat,,,the butcher is really busy and doesn't have room in the freezer so asked me to be there at 8am...Yeh then come home and face the mess in my house...no kidding looked like a tornado hit it...so yeh,,clean everywhere, do dishes ,,water plants ,,start laundry, vacuum everywhere then washed the floors....grrrrrrrrrrr...Day Off ,,,From What...Still have a hugh pile of laundry which needs folding,,,and try to think of what were going to have for dinner...
Is everyone's days off from work like this...just end up working at home..

There's not a weekend that goes by that I don't sacrifice some portion to cleaning & contract work, so I certainly sympathize.
Try to look at it this way... since your home has had a good cleaning in the middle of the week, you might be able to enjoy more time not cleaning on the weekend. One only hopes. :hugging:

Umm, how about something less sexist and more along the lines of "grown up adults who work hard to bring home a living wage while helping to keep the home environment clean and healthy who also take an active interest in their children's education and socialization while maintaining a loving relationship with their partners and at the same time try not to neglect quiet time for their own sanity's sake" have it hard.
And in case anyone's tempted to tell me that "grown up adults" is redundant... no it's not, because by no stretch of the imag9ination are all adults grown up.
Peace!
P.S. the above was not a rant, just a slight correction to show some respect to the good men of the forum.

This is how i get hubby to help around the house
him: "I'm hungry!"
Me: "Dishes need doing"
him: "I'm hungry!"
Me: I can't cook until you do the dishes!"
Him: ...*grunts and loads dishwasher*
He'd rather have my cooking than his
That being said, he usually helps if i ask. It just doesn't occur to him to do it automatically. He was brought up in a family where the mother waited on him and his father hand and foot...in the 8 months i lived with them i saw his father lift a finger to help maybe twice...before i came over here, he didn't know how to use a WASHING MACHINE. But he is easily trained

Fair enough. My apologies for whatever portion of my post caused such feelings of superiority. I shall promise to henceforth internalize all feelings of disappointment that general society disregards the efforts of responsible men today much as it did the exertions of women in the 50's.
