| Wise Beaver | Well at first I thought it was allergies as I spent last weekend outside. But 5 days later I'm realizing that this a massive head cold and I cant seem to shake it. I hate taking pills and meds for anything (stubborn like that and dont like putting chemicals in my body) so Im literally dying. I now look like Rudolphs long lost cousin my nose is so red. Does anyone have any advice that I could do or take that will make my head from feeling like it's a helium balloon and my nose is so raw it hurts to breathe. HELP..... |

I'm just asking as I'm assuming your nose is now running. I sometimes get a sinus cold so bad it backs all the way up, and I end up needed antibiodics to unclog it. You could try Eciliptic bath salts and go soak in the tub for a bit. Other than that either go see a doctor or go the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacy and get the proper cold stuff. |

| Wise Beaver | Ok...thanks for the tips. I will try the vicks thingy with the towel for sure. Yes it is draining...non stop. I almsot feel like sticking the kleenex up my nose. It's constant. I will give it a couple more days and if not getting better I will go and get the proper drugs needed. |

| Junior Beaver | I've had colds like that, and I completely sympathize. However, I'm what I consider to be a 'rational' drug user, and I think you should consider joining my ranks. When it comes to ailments that will pass in time, like colds, flus, my hayfever and even 'the runs', I prefer to let my body do it's own cleaning up. BUT, when I need to be functioning as close to optimal as possible, like when I have to go into the office, take care of kids, not risk infecting others, etc., then I'll quite happily take any overpriced pharmaceutical that promises relief. Lady, take a pill.

| Junior Beaver Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Brampton, Ontario | When I went for my physio (3 times a weeks), the minute I was able to sit up, my head would automaticaly start pounding. The OT would bring me an ice pack wrapped with a towel and apply it where it hurt (to most). Within 20 minutes my headache was gone. Now, everytime I have a headache (from a cold and/or anything else), I continue using the ice pack. It works great for me. I know you said you do not like meds, but if you were to try something, Tylenol - Sinus (extra strenght) works well when you feel like your head will explode. I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Take care, Roxanne P.S. I'm a CYW too!!! ![]()
