Default Our Soldiers Came Home Today

The latest soldiers killed in Iraq were from Quebec and came home today. I live in Courtice and was fortunate enough to watch the motorcade come home. My family and I, others stood on bridge above 401 and watched them come home. It was a strange feeling to see this. They had them familys in Limos following behind. Now they tell you on the radio when they have landed in Trenton and when to expect them to come by. We even had a fire truck pull up behind us and they stood on the roof of the truck and had there helmets on. It was sad.

That is very sad. I am against our soldiers presence in Afghanistan, and I think that none of our soliders should have to come home that way. It is a tremendous sacrifice on their part, but I don't think they should have even had to be sent there in the first place.

Default My heart feels heavy :(

Sherbear, my heart sinks when I hear things like this. Everytime a soldier is killed my heart feels heavy. I have a dear friend in Afghanistan; she, yes she was also one of the first in Kosovo as well. TRUE GRIT I say, and I am honored to know her, a pleasure to call her my dear friend.

Not that she will read this, but I wink, and salute her .. tee hee .. her nicname Sgt Cashew

Deeitsme, my hubbys nickname is cashew. I do agree with you both. I really is a very sad situation they are in. I feel proud to be Canadian and admire the strength of the men and woman in service and their families as well.
