Question about newsletters - Canadian Freebie Forum ~Canada's top free sample, coupons, & contests forum

Our store has a newsletter - I'm pretty sure that some of you are even subscribe to it. Unfortunately, our systems can only send out the newsletter in either HTML format or as text... we're not able to give the subscriber their choice. So, my question is simple...

... which do you prefer getting in your inbox, HTML or text? (and if a few of you take the time to give me their reasons, I'd be much obliged.)

Im sure Im in the minority but I prefer text,much quicker to read and more to the point I think.

Well i like the HTML, i guess it's just the colors and pictures that catch my eyes .It makes you wanna look at the newsletter instead of automatically deleting it.

Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback. My big concern is that people will have their images turned off (hence I waste my time making the newsletters pretty), or that the HTML format causes the thing to be routed into the junk folder.

I've just recently (actually, yesterday), read an article about sites using RSS feeds for their updates, specials and newsletters. I have no idea if that's common or not. Any of you subscribe to RSS feeds from sites that frequently have contests.

*Sorry about using you all as cheap market research subjects, but where else could I find such a concentrated, dedicated group of bargain hunters?*

And Yes I use HTML.
