| Wise Beaver Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Courtice, Ontario | I groom my own dog, cut sons hair, when things at grocery are 2 for 1 on things I use I stock up. When things are on sale, I mean a good sale like our nofrills and pricechopper have dollar days so I stock up on lunch snacks, juice boxes and such but never spend more then regular price so if some thing is normally 300 and is on for 100 buy three it really does save money, oh yeah I LOVE DOLLAR STORES |

We all sorta know who buys what and try to get coupons for others when we see them. Everyone wins. We also have a good WOM going for sales at grocery stores. We all seem to shop at different stores so we tell each other what is on sale and them if you want something they will pick it up for you. Last Christimas Cosco had 3 x angle candles on sale. Really nice ones, so the friend with the Cosco card picked me up 5 sets for gifts at $20.00 a set made my shopping a whole lot easier. I also look in all the store flyers for deals and always ask for a discount if something is imperfect or is the last one available. You would be suprised, how easily some companies will cave when you simply ask. (My husband taught me this one)

| Diva Beaver | i save money by not spending it. thats my only hint. i used to buy in bulk and stock up by the kids would waste it by either overeating/cooking or it goes bad. i started up a clothing exchange and ran it so that i could get some clothes for myself and the kids. helped alot of other people along the way. i volunteer at a food bank and cant believe the waste or the people.thats the fault of the administration though. ex. giving large industrial size fruit cans to single elderly adults.i tried to give these to the larger families but the person in charge was very angry that i was holding back on food. |

I use my coupons, and try to always buy everything on sale, and 10% off for stidents on Wednesday at bulk barn where I get all my baking stuff. We also do the typical to save on bills, hang clothes to dry ect. Then we go spend all that money we save on Tim Horton's coffee, darn you Tim Hortons, darn you! |

| Diva Beaver | one way to save money is to get to know your neighbourhood/city. we have a high school that cuts hair for free or go to the beauty school and pay $6. the high schools also have service classes such as auto repairs, woodworking etc. our local churches provide services and assistance. also agencies and organizations will provide information. |

| Diva Beaver Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Boucherville, Québec | At first I did not want to go to a grocery store 13km away from home (with the gas price), I used to do my grocery at 2km from home but I tried it and wow did I saved: $1.50 on Tropicana orange juice $1.00 on Hamburger helper $0.75 on Tuna Helper $2.00 on a six-pack of Pepsi ... I save $75.00 a month on grocery now. Might try to do a part of my grocery at Wal-mart since other canned products are cheaper |
