| Diva Beaver Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Prince George,BC | my son just hates medicine.I mean he really freaks...when i have gotten it in his mouth(holding him down)half of it comes right back out. i've tried juice, hidding it in minigo works pretty well.he wont chew the "new"chewables-spits it out. I'm going crazy trying to find ways to get him to take it so he can hopefully get over this cold. i have been lucky today and been able to mix in the jam for his pb & j.. what a kid :?????: any ideas would be great |

| Guru Beaver | I know its hard for some kids to take medicine. If its liquid medication its much easier to mix into fruit juices that the child likes, although you can try and crush tablets up fine and mix it into fruit juice a bit at a time and hopefully he will take it that way.Putting it in jam sounds like a good idea,I hope he is getting a lot better now babyhuggies, good luck with it.

| Bargain Diva Beaver Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: surrey bc | It sounds like your child is alot like my daughter was when she was 6 months to 4 years ol dwont take anythingi tried chewables and liquid and it was alwasy a fight ,she been in hospital since 6months with respiratory problems so iv been there.. i think your tryin everything i used to do the jam thing to its easiest to hide, i used the liquid in juice but found she could taste it and to dilute it enough you were never guaranteed they'd drink it in time for it all to work. However with my youngest baby i just found a tylenol that is tasteless and colorless so maybe try that in a small amount of juice its in liquid form and made by tylenol ... hope he gets better |

The dr. told me this trick. as far as pill form I used the jam thing too or yogurt was always a good one for crushed pills. |
