What is the study about?

This study is examining the impact of a full-day of sitting on markers of health, food intake, and physical activity in children and youth aged 10-14

What is expected of participants?

Participants will need to visit the University of Ottawa on 4 occasions
The 1st visit will last about 1.5 hours, and will involve a fitness test
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th visits last from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM, and will involve sitting, watching TV, playing video games, and doing school work, as well as blood sampling

What will you receive for participating?

After study completion, you will receive a personalized profile of your physical activity and fitness levels, as well as indicators of health
You will receive complimentary bus fare or parking during each visit
Participants will also receive $40 following the completion of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th visits ($120 total)
