PRIZES
There is one (1) grand prize, as described below (the "Grand Prize") and six (6) regional prizes, as described below (the "Regional Prizes") available to be won. Grand Prizes and Regional Prizes are collectively referred to in these rules as "Prizes" or each, a "Prize". One of the six (6) Regional Prizes will be awarded for each of the six Regions. For the purpose of this Contest, the Regions are defined as: (1) British Columbia and Yukon; (2) Alberta; (3) Manitoba, Saskatchewan, NWT and Nunavut; (4) Quebec; (5) Ontario; and (6) Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Grand Prize is a trip for four (4) persons to The Fairmont Banff Springs hotel in Banff, Alberta. The Grand Prize includes: (a) return economy class airfare for four (4) persons from the commercial airport in Canada closest to the winner's residence to Calgary, Alberta; (b) four (4) hotel rooms (single occupancy each) at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel for four (4) consecutive nights, including all applicable taxes; (c) Two Thousand Canadian Dollars ($2,000CDN); (d) ground transportation for all four (4) travelers from the winner's home to/from departure airport; (e) limousine transportation from the Calgary, Alberta airport to The Fairmont Banff Springs hotel; and (f) one (1) of either: a round of golf for four (4) at the hotel's golf course or four (4) one-day skiing passes. The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $12,000 and will vary depending on the departure city of the Grand Prize winner and guests, date of travel and other factors.

Each Regional Prize includes: dinner for the Regional Prize winner and nineteen (19) other individuals selected by the Regional Prize winner, at the participating freestanding A&W Restaurant located nearest to the Regional Prize winner's residence. The Regional Prize includes all A&W food and beverage items ordered for consumption at the restaurant that evening. A&W reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to select an alternate A&W Restaurant for any Regional Prize and to limit the food and beverages consumed to reasonable quantities. The approximate retail value of each Regional Prize depends on the A&W food and beverages ordered by the Regional Prize winners and guests and is estimated to be approximately $250 each.

Each person will only be eligible to win one Prize.

Grand Prize and Regional Prize winners will be as follows:

Grand Prize Winner Selection
On Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Vancouver, British Columbia at 10:00am PST, twenty (20) entries will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries received (the "Grand Prize Qualifying Entries").

The Grand Prize Qualifying Entries will then be judged by a panel of judges selected by A&W in its discretion (which panel may include one or more persons employed by, or otherwise affiliated with, A&W). Each of the Grand Prize Qualifying Entries will be graded according to four criteria, and each criteria will be assigned a score between 1 and 5 with 5 being the highest score awarded. The grading criteria are as follows: 1) Is the story humorous? 2) Is the story interesting or unusual? 3) Is the story relevant? 4) Is the story creative? The entry receiving the highest score among all Grand Prize Qualifying Entries will be eligible for the Grand Prize, subject to the person who submitted such entry complying with and being declared a winner in accordance with these rules. In the event of a tie, Grand Prize winner will be selected by a further random draw from all tied Grand Prize Qualifying Entries. If a person eligible to be declared the Grand Prize winner is ineligible or is otherwise unwilling or unable to comply in full with these rules, then the Grand Prize will be awarded to the Grand Prize Qualifying Entry that received the next highest point total, subject to the person who submitted such entry complying with and being declared a winner in accordance with these rules, or in the event of a tie for the Grand Prize, there will be another random draw conducted by A&W of all tied Grand Prize Qualifying Entries. This process will be repeated until a Grand Prize winner is declared.
Regional Prize Winner Selection
On Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Vancouver, British Columbia at 10:00am PST, ten (10) entries will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries received from each of the six (6) Regions (except those selected as Grand Prize Qualifying Entries). Each of these ten entries from each Region are hereafter referred to as the "Regional Prize Qualifying Entries".
