Working Again today. But glad its friday.
I think this weekend I will take down my Christmas tree and decorations. I usually take them down Boxing day, but this year I am being a slacker.
it was so cold here yesterday, something like -31 with the windchill but by sunday is suppose to be +7 I guess it's our january thaw? I can't wait for summer, I'll never complain about the heat again :(
We got 51 cms in the last storm. 10-15 was predicted. we are supposed to get 2-4 tomorrow....uhm yeah right. But you know... it sure beats the &*%@#cold!
When I complained about the cold, I wasn't in north bay i was in cochrane, north bay cold i can handle at least you can breathe but cochrane cold is a dry cold that hurts all the way down into your lungs
the 'boys' are trying to install a new bathtub and taps today.. they have been at it since 9 am and with luck i will be able to shower by monday! the water is off at the main, and they are having all sorts of problems... one thing fixed, another breaks... that is what happens with 45 year old pipes!
renovations? yuck :( we did our bathroom this past summer and I got the bright idea to take down the midway border only to start peeling the paper and finding out that the whole bathroom was papered :eek: took hours to take down and then we ran out of the color and could only do one coat. Never again!!! :rolleyes:
lol my mom and dad take forever to paint the house!! WE have had half of the living room painted for about 3 years now... its crazy. But they are packrats so i would do it but they would kill me if i moved anything.
Renovations? Been there done that, am glad I have no major ones left to do. We redid just about 1/2 of our house or more a few years ago. Kitchen, 2/3 baths made into 2, and redid doors, bla bla the list goes on.
I am down to having to do small rooms for flooring, and windows. and two doors. then I will be at 100% LOL. Insane I tell you, It seems it never ends.
Congrats Skylark on the upcoming wedding. You must be very happy for the big day. I love weddings, and it seems no one gets married anymore.
It seems I go to only funerals the last few years. And this last year I went to 3. 2 being immediate family. Not good, I should of went to a few more but opted out on not going because I did not feel I could bare to go, ( You know the funerals you feel you should go to out of respect?)
Seems that the reno has taken a life of its own. The wall had to be broken to get the tub and taps out. My father and grandfather built the house not thinking about replacing things, both were the "if you are going to do something do it to last" types and plastered the tub into the wall. So more of the wall is going to have to be taken down before it can be replaced and the insert put in. I may be visiting the neighbours for showers for a bit more. Of course the wall paper got ripped a bit, so it means repainting and rewallpapering....
my bedroom closet should be back to normal (they had to tear it apart to get at the pipes) in a couple of days.
Anyway the guys are in their glory, talking about getting to use all sorts of cool tools, me I would just like to not see the bathroom through my room and to be able to shower again.
