There is no purchase necessary to enter or win the COSTCO’S HOCKEY FEVER Contest (“Contest”) sponsored by Procter & Gamble (“Sponsor”) for Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd (“Costco”). This contest is only open to Canadian residents and is governed by Canadian law.
Deadlines for Entry: The Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) October 18th, 2007 and closes at 11:59 p.m. EST December 31st, 2007 (the “Contest Period”).
How to Enter: To enter the Contest, visit www.costco.ca, click on the “Get MORE of what you LOVE” banner, and then click on the contest icon, complete the contest entry form and click the submit button before the end of the Contest Period (“Entry”). As a condition of Contest entry, potential entrants must provide a valid e-mail address. One Entry per person. Entry will only be accepted online. No entries will be accepted by any other means, including but not limited to regular postal mail. No mechanically or electronically reproduced entries will be accepted. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account. Entries become the property of Costco. No acknowledgement of receipt will be sent. Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the holder of the e-mail account. Multiple Entries by the same person using one or more e-mail accounts shall result in disqualification. Entry in this contest constitutes acceptance of these Contest Rules.
The Prize[s]: There are 12 prizes available to be won in the Contest: two Costco Cash cards, and ten Team Canada Hockey Jerseys. Size and colour of Jersey awarded to a Winner is at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. The Costco Cash cards are valued at CAN$1,000 each, and the approximate retail value of each Team Canada Hockey Jersey is CAN$60. All other costs and expenses not expressly listed as part of a prize, including taxes and any fees, are the sole responsibility of the winner. All Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to substitute a Prize for another prize of equal or greater value should the Prize be unavailable for any reason. Any Prize represented in promotional materials is for illustration purposes only and may not be the exact item(s) offered as a prize. Team Canada jerseys are being shown for the purposes of prize description only. Team Canada is not a sponsor of nor is it affiliated with the administration of the contest
Who can Participate: You do not have to be a Costco member to participate. Participants must be legal residents of Canada and must have reached the age of majority in their province of residence by the date they enter the contest. Participants must also have Internet access. Participants may be required to provide evidence of their identity and eligibility (e.g. address and date of birth), and/or and proof that they are the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with their entry. Failure to provide such proof within a reasonable period of time could result in disqualification. Employees, officers and directors of Costco and Sponsor, and their parent corporations, subsidiaries, affiliates, representatives and agents and immediate family members or persons domiciled with any of the above, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Sponsor for the purpose of this Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry or entrant in its sole discretion, should any entry or entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.
How Winner[s] Selected: On Monday January 7th, 2008 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada at 11:30 am Eastern Standard Time EST, 12 potential winners (“Potential Winners”) will be selected by Sponsor by a random draw from all eligible online entries received during the Contest Period.
How Winner[s] Notified: The Potential Winners will be notified by e-mail within 10 days after their name has been selected (“Prize Notification”). The Potential Winners will receive with the Prize Notification a mathematical skill-testing question and a declaration and release form (“Release”). In order to claim a prize, each Potential Winner must correctly answer, unaided, the mathematical skill-testing question, and complete, sign and return the Release to the Sponsor, using the address or fax number provided within the Prize Notification. The Release must be returned to the Sponsor within 14 days from the date of the Prize Notification. Each Potential Winner will forfeit their prize if: (1) the Prize Notification is returned to the Sponsor as undeliverable; (2) the Release is not returned or is returned unsigned; (3) the skill-testing question is incorrectly answered; or (4) the Release and answer to the skill-testing question are not received by the Sponsor within the 14 day time limit. The Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate Potential Winner for a prize that has been forfeited. In the Release form, the Winner will be required to confirm: (i) eligibility for the Contest and compliance with these Contest Rules; (ii) acceptance of the Prize as offered; and (iii) release of Costco and Sponsor and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their employees, directors, officers, suppliers and agents, from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in this Contest, participation in any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any Prize including without limitation, costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising there from; and (iv) grant to Costco of the unrestricted right, in Costco’s sole discretion, to publish without any further compensation the name, picture, portrait, likeness, of the Winner for advertising and promotional purposes.
