The 2nd Annual Great G.A.P Adventures Travel Photo Contest:

General photo contest rules apply. The contest runs from August 22, 2007 to January 4, 2008. Voting ends January 4, 2008. Images submitted up to, and including December 21, 2007 will be valid for the current contest. Images submitted after December 21 will be kept on file and posted in January, when the next annual photo contest starts. Winners will be notified by e-mail and announced in our e-newsletter bridging the gap no later than January 31, 2008. The grand prize winner will win a trip for one on any 8-day "Greek Islands Adventure" in 2008 (subject to availability), as described in our current brochure. The winner will also receive a photo prize package from DayMen Photo Marketing, approximate retail value of the grand prize is $1000CDN. The winner must book their trip by May 1, 2008. The grand prize does not include airfare or local payment.
The runner-up "Honourable Mention" image will receive a $200CDN value discount voucher for future travel with G.A.P Adventures. Odds of winning are based on the number of entries received.
Monthly/Bi-Monthly Themed Contests:

General photo contest rules apply. Winners will be chosen in similar fashion to our "Great G.A.P Adventures Travel Photo Contest". Prizes for themed contests vary, and are outlined on each contest entry and "past winners" page. Winners will be contacted by email and via our e-newsletter, bridging the gap.
G.A.P Adventures reserves the right to extend the duration of any of our themed photo contests.
General Rules for all photo contests:

The winners will be chosen by a panel of G.A.P Adventures employees, taking user votes and ratings, creativity, composition and content relevance into account, and is not subject to appeal. All prizes are non-transferrable. Winners will be notified by email and announced in our e-newsletter no later than one month after the end date of the contest.
By submitting images in our photo contest you give G.A.P Adventures the legal right to use and publish your submitted materials for future brochures, newsletters and other campaigns without compensation. Other options are available to professional photographers who seek compensation for their work, please contact the G.A.P Adventures design and marketing department. Some photos will be selected and acknowledged in the G.A.P Adventures e-newsletter bridging the gap. You also acknowledge that the image was taken by you, and that any identifiable persons in your images have approved your submission to this contest. Contest participants are limited to displaying one highest-ranked image in the 'top 12' area at any one time. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Participants acknowledge these contest rules are to be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Canada and laws of Ontario. By entering the contest and agreeing to our terms and conditions, the winners confirm their eligibility and compliance with the contest rules and release G.A.P Adventures, its partners and affiliates and their respective advertising and promotional agencies from all liability caused by, or resulting from, the acceptance or use of the contest prize.
This contest is open to all participants, except employees of G.A.P Adventures, Altun Limited, its partners and affiliates and their respective advertising and promotional agencies. Residents of countries or provinces where they are prohibited or restricted in entering online contests are also prohibited from entering.
G.A.P Adventures, Altun Limited, its partners and affiliates and their respective advertising and promotional agencies each assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, or misdirected entries, or for any failure of the website or voting process during this contest, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, services, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by G.A.P Adventures on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or the website or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrants, or any other persons computer, related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. Any attempt to deliberately damage the website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of the Criminal and Civil laws, and should such an attempt be made G.A.P Adventures reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. If this contest has an offline component then physical ballot entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way. G.A.P Adventures reserves the right to change the terms of this contest, or terminate it at any time, without prior notice.
All entries become the property of G.A.P Adventures and none will be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants who will be notified by email and announced in our e-newsletter. Entrants, by entering this contest, agree to abide by these contest rules. Contest winners must consent to the use of their name or photograph, without compensation, in any publicity carried out by G.A.P Adventures.
Entrants agree that the personal information collected for purposes of this contest can be collected, used and disclosed by G.A.P Adventures in accordance with its privacy policy which is available on its web site.
