1. Eligibility: The Be Your Team’s Hero Contest is open only to legal residents of Canada. All employees of General Mills Canada Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “Sponsor”), their advertising and promotional agencies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children), and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The decision of the Sponsor is final. The Contest and Official Rules shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario. Any dispute shall be adjudicated in the courts sitting in Toronto, Ontario.
2. Entry Period: Contest begins 12:01 a.m. (EST) on November 15, 2007 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (EST) on March 31, 2008 (“Entry Period”). Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
3. How to Enter: To enter the Contest, eligible participants must go to www.goldenhockeymoments.com during the Entry Period, then follow the directions to write and submit a story about “Your Best Golden Hockey Moment”. Upon completion of the entry form you will be entered into the Be Your Team’s Hero Contest. One (1) entry per household e-mail address. Your story may not exceed 300 words, and must contain truthful and verifiable information. Information stated in your story is subject to verification of the Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Your story must not be inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Proof of submission or sending is not proof of sub receipt by Sponsor. If your story involves another person, you must have permission from that person. The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may require verification of such permission before naming an entrant the winner. No photocopies, facsimiles, computer generated or mechanical reproductions of the entry form will be accepted. A selection of stories will be posted under the “Monthly Story” section of the website, which may or may not include the winning story. All submissions become the exclusive property of the Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned. Submission of an entry in this Contest constitutes entrant’s irrevocable assignment, conveyance and transference to Sponsor, its agents, subsidiaries and affiliates of all right, title and interest in the entry, including without limitation, copyrighs. Furthermore, each entrant agrees to waive their moral rights to the story and sign an agreement to this affect. Each entrant hereby represents and warrants that he/she is the original author of his/her story and the story will not infringe any third party's copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy.
4. Judging of Story and Selection of Winner: On April 15, 2008, a committee of qualified judges, whose decisions regarding the contest and related matters are final, will select the contest winner from all eligible entries received. Stories will be judged solely on their content and how the story relates to the theme of “Your Best Golden Hockey Moment.” Judges, taking into account the age of the entrant, will look for writing that is clear, articulate, logically organized and best captures the theme. In the event of a tie, tied stories will be re-judged under the same criteria until one (1) story is determined the winning story.
5. Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize consisting of twenty (20) Golden Grahams Hockey Jerseys, twenty (20) hockey helmets, facial wires, equipment bags, one piece sticks and pairs of gloves for your team. Approximate retail value for total prize package is $14,900 CAD.
   The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received and the quality of the stories submitted, as well as how they rank in conjunction to all other eligible entries. Prizing must be accepted as awarded. No substitution, transfer or refund will be allowed, except at the Sponsor’s discretion. The prize or any unused portion cannot be exchanged for cash. However, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at Sponsor’s sole discretion. All taxes and other costs not expressly assumed by the Sponsor are the responsibility of the individual winner.
