Select the 20 players and 2 goaltenders that you think will play for Team Canada in the opening game of the 2008 IIHF World Championship. The contestant that selects the most correct players compared to the official starting game roster for Team Canada that will play against Slovenia on May 2nd will WIN: - Round-trip airfare for two from Halifax to Quebec City,
- Three nights accommodation at a Quebec City hotel,
- A pair of tickets to each of the two semi-final games,
- A pair of tickets to both the Bronze and Gold Medal games,
- $500 spending money.
</B>Although the following players have been announced to attend Team Canada's training camp in Quebec City on Thursday, April 24th, they will not necessarily be playing against Slovenia in Halifax on May 2nd: Pascal Leclaire - Columbus Blue Jackets, Cam Ward - Carolina Hurricanes, Jay Bouwmeester - Florida Panthers, Duncan Keith - Chicago Blackhawks, Steve Staios - Edmonton Oilers, Jason Chimera - Columbus Blue Jackets, Shane Doan - Phoenix Coyotes, Jamal Mayers - St. Louis Blues, Rick Nash - Columbus Blue Jackets, Derek Roy - Buffalo Sabres, Patrick Sharp - Chicago Blackhawks, Martin St. Louis - Tampa Bay Lightning, Eric Staal - Carolina Hurricanes, Jonathan Toews - Chicago Blackhawks, Ray Whitney - Carolina Hurricanes - The "You be the Coach" Contest is free to enter and open to everyone, except employees of The Chronicle Herald, Hockey Canada, and any division of Hockey Canada (hereafter referred to as the contest promoters) and persons with whom they cohabit. Must be 19 years of age or older. If under the age of majority, must have parent/guardian consent.
- No purchase necessary. Select the 20 players and 2 goaltenders that you think will play for Team Canada in the opening game of the 2008 IIHF World Hockey Championship. The contestant that selects the most correct players compared to the official starting game roster for Team Canada that will play against Slovenia on May 2nd will win the Grand Prize.
- Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to sign an agreement and release confirming compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the prize as offered and releasing the contest promoters from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in this contest.
- One Grand Prize is to be awarded consisting of roundtrip airfare for 2 from Halifax to Quebec City, hotel accommodation (based on double occupancy) for 3 nights at a Quebec City hotel, two (2) tickets to each of the two semi-final games, two (2) tickets to both the Bronze and Gold Medal games and $500 spending money. All transportation to and from the airport, ground transportation, insurance, travel related fees and items of a personal nature, including but not limited to food, beverages, room service, gratuities, etc., are the sole responsibility of the grand prize winner in relations to airline and the hotel accommodations. The winner may be required to produce a valid credit card for check in at the hotel, and proper travel identification is required. The prize package has no cash value and is not valid with any other offer. Any expenses incurred due to a change in travel dates after airline tickets are issued are the responsibility of the winner. Five secondary prizes will also be awarded based on a random draw following the contest deadline. Each of these winners will receive a pair of tickets to various qualification and relegation IIHF World Hockey Championship games played at the Halifax Metro Centre.
- In the event of a tie, the following tiebreakers will be applied to determine which contestant receives the Grand Prize: (a) The entrant who correctly answers the Bonus Question and then (b) a random draw from all the entries with the most correct players predicted.
- Identification must be provided upon winning the prize. Entrants must consent to the use of their names, city of residence, photograph and/or image for publicity purposes in all mediums carried out by the contest promoters without payment or compensation.
- To be eligible, all entries must be received on or before the contest deadline of 9:00 a.m., Monday, April 21st.
- The contest promoters will not be responsible for prize substitution through cancellation of event by promoter. The contest promoters may withdraw or cancel the event and the prize winner and his/her guest.s participation in it prior to, after commencement of, or during the promotion and may make such substitutions alterations, or cancellations at any time, without any advance notice to, or approval of, or liability or responsibility to the prize winner and his/her guests whatsoever.
- Some prize restrictions may apply.
- Prizes must be claimed within two days of notification or contest winner (s) will forfeit their prize (s).
- The eligible winner of the prize must sign a declaration and release form releasing the contest promoters from any liability arising from the acceptance of the grand prize and confirming compliance with contest rules. The guest of the prizewinner must also sign a standard declaration and release form.
- The contest promoters accept no liability or responsibility in connection with any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising out of this contest or the prize.
- The Grand Prize is not transferable or convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded.
- The decision of the Promotions Manager is final on all matters of fact, interpretations, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment.
