Beginning 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on August 20, 2007 Canadian residents may visit www.olaymorepowertoyou.ca and follow the on-screen entry instructions, upload a recent digital photo of yourself and answer the question “Tell us in 75 words or less about your special goal and which expert you’d choose for a personal consultation”. Participants may only submit a photo of themselves, may not submit a photo for another person, and may not include any other people in their photo. The photo can be in colour or black and white. Entrant cannot be wearing/carrying any unacceptable/corporate advertising (including but not limited to corporate logos, brand names, slogans, political, personal and religious statements) as determined by the contest sponsor, in its sole discretion. Your story must be original. It must not contain any inappropriate or offensive content. Stories deemed to be inappropriate or offensive as determined by the contest sponsor in their sole discretion will be considered invalid and the entrant will be disqualified. By submitting your story you hereby give consent to the contest sponsor to post your story, excerpts of your story on-line and potentially use in radio, TV, print, on-line advertising along with your name and residence (city/province only) without compensation. Online entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on October 31, 2007. Entries limited to one per person for the duration of the contest. If more than one entry is received, only the first such entry received will be eligible. Contest Sponsors and their agencies are not responsible for incomplete submissions. All photos/essays submitted become the exclusive property of the Contest Sponsors and will not be returned. Photograph must be 100K, jpeg only.
1. No purchase necessary.
2. Contest closes October 31, 2007. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) October 31, 2007.
3. Prizes: A total of four (4) prize winners will be selected by a panel of judges, based on the quality of entries, received online by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday October 31, 2007. There will be one winner chosen per expert for a total of four (4) prizes. Each prize includes: a one (1)-hour phone consultation with the expert. Phone conversation to take place at a pre-determined time convenient for both parties. Consultation must be completed by December 31, 2007, and subject to change depending on expert availability. The total value of each prize is approximately $150 Canadian Dollars.
4. Prize must be accepted as awarded. The sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value in the event that the prize described is unavailable due to circumstances beyond their control.
5. Selection Process: Entries will be judged by a panel of judges from amongst all eligible entries received via the internet by the contest closing date. Judging criteria is as follows: (a) Relevance to theme 95%, (b) Grammar 5%. The judging will take place on November 7, 2007 in Toronto, Ontario at approximately 1 PM. Only one prize will be awarded per contest winner, household, family, group or organization. The odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received by the contest closing date of October 31, 2007 and the judges’ decision.
6. Selected entrants will be contacted by phone, or email. In the event that the potential winners are not eligible, cannot be contacted by the contest sponsors within seven (7) business days following the judging on November 7, 2007, or do not sign and return the release forms by November 16, 2007, the Contest Sponsors shall have the right to disqualify that potential winners and to choose an alternate potential winner from all remaining eligible entries received and the Contest Sponsors shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first complete a written declaration confirming compliance with the contest.
7. Eligibility: To enter and be eligible to win, a person must be a legal resident of Canada of the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, and not be an employee of, a member of the immediate family of or domiciled with an employee of Transcontinental Media, Procter & Gamble Inc., or their advertising and promotional agencies. All entries become the property of Transcontinental Media.
8. By entering this contest, entrants hereby grant permission for the contest sponsors to contact them with respect to their entry form and comments. Entrants further agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of Transcontinental Media and Procter & Gamble Inc., which are final. Prizes will be awarded and delivered to the confirmed winners by the handling house. The winner will be required to release Procter & Gamble Inc., Transcontinental Media G.P., and their agencies and representatives from liability with respect to the contest and the prize. An affidavit of eligibility and release must be executed. Failure on the part of the selected entrant to return the affidavit by the deadline as noted on the release form may result in disqualification of that person and an alternate winner will be selected from among all remaining eligible entries. Winners agree to authorize Transcontinental Media G.P. and Procter & Gamble Inc. to announce and publish his/her name, address (city only), and photograph in any forthcoming publicity (including a winner’s list) in connection with this promotion without further remuneration.
9. Procter & Gamble Inc. and Transcontinental Media G.P., their respective companies and divisions and any other moral person of their corporate groups, their affiliated broadcast distributors, advertising and promotional agencies and their respective shareholders, administrators, executives, employees and agents, as well as any contributor to the contest including “client” (hereafter called “Release recipients”) are not responsible for matters regarding the prizes or contest and provide no guarantee for either.
10. Contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws.
11. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (“Régie”) for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purposes of helping the parties reach a settlement.
12. A winners' list can be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Transcontinental Media, re: Olay’s More Power to You contest, 25 Sheppard Avenue West, Suite 100, Toronto, Ontario M2N 6S7 before December 31, 2007.
