Purina has not joined. Neither has IAMS, Whiskas, many others.
Good to know if you care about not only YOUR pet's health, but the health of the animals who unwillingly donate themselves to the testing of the products YOU consume.

So I should order heavy bags of pet food from over-seas and contribute to spoiling the planet with the pollution created when it's shipped over to Canada?

That's like me walking from BC to Nova Scotia just to buy a block of cheese when I can walk a shorter distance to the corner store. I think I'll stick with the cheese at the corner store.

Also, where do you think these "good" companies got their pet food recipie from? Probably from some source (not the company itself perhaps) who did the testing to see if the product is safe. At some point these "safe" foods would have been tested somehow, otherwise, wouldn't that make the current buyers the tester of this "safe" food?

I'm not approving the testing of any animal but these other "innocent" companies, I doubt are truly innocent.

I think that is is best to test pet food on animals. since the animals are the ones that will be eating it!

It's not about the fact that they test it on animals, it's to WAY in which they treat the animals. They are locked up in large numbers, in cages that give them barely any room to move around. It's cruel, and I think that if you care about animals you should be aware of the living conditions of the testing subjects.
