Free Stuff in your City/town - Freecycle

For those of you who have never heard of Freecycle, It's an amazing yahoo group, Where people post things they no longer need and everything is free!!! the point of freecycle is to keep the landfills from filling up, but most of the stuff is in great condition.. you can post thing you no longer need and reduce clutter in your house, or if there is something you are looking for you can post a wanted ad... anyways it's a great site.. the first thing you have to do is open a www.yahoo.ca email account (if you don't already have one) then go to http://www.freecycle.org/group/CA/?noautodetect=1 find your city/town of the closest city/town to you and join the group....

You don't know how thankful I am for you posting this. I heard about it on TV years ago and I've been searching for it for the past couple weeks with no success. A huge thank you! Maybe this one should be stickied, its a great find.

try www.kijiji.ca and look for your city at the bottom of the page you'll see "Free Stuff" and you'll be good to go

BTW.. check these sites often, so that you are first to see and reply to the item... the good ones go fast

This is a great site, i check it every morning. Have gotten some really cool stuff from people who are just clearing out the house. Guess I should be doing that too. teehee.

This is a great site! I'm a member as well! It definitely helps keep things out of the landfills! There is also a cheapcycle site as well for people to sell things cheap to others!

First pick your city. Then when your city is displayed, look at the tabs on the top. One of them will say 'Browse Ads.' If you click on 'Browse Ads' at the bottom of the list will be 'Free Stuff.'

3. Once this page is displayed... at the very bottom is: Please login or sign up to My Freecycle to join this group.



You can also get to this page thru Yahoo.ca
It is a 'Group' within Yahoo.
If you already have an email address with Yahoo you can easily join the group via this link: http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/bestofyahoogroups/
1. In the 'Search for a group' type 'freecyclekings'
2. It should automatically pick your closest area based on your Yahoo account that you already have. (remember the information you filled in when you created your Yahoo account eons ago. lol)
3. It will simply display the page and you will have to click on 'Join this group.'

Ive been a member at freecycle for a while now and its an amazing group!

I've traded my kids too small clothes for bigger ones, given away things we no longer needed and gotten things we needed...its great!

i LOVE this site! Last year my hubbie decided he wanted to start working out more and wanted weights. I was able to find someone who not only was giving away weights, bars and the bench...but delivered it for me since I didn't drive at the time!

What an awesome place to recycle your old unwanted stuff and gain stuff you want...all for free!

Some groups are very large, and what an incredible way to be environmentally friendly.

I have been a memeber of freecycle for a year its an awesome site It makes spring cleaning a great experince and really takes the effort out of decluttering... I love the fact that all my old stuff goes to somone who will really use it and when their done it gets passed along...
