Ok well here is one way that you can get free stuff from craigslist

1.First you goto http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/
2.Then you will see on the right hand side of the page a list of your city.
3.Click on your city.
4.Then in the center of the page there is a column that says "for sale".It is right under the column that say's "housing"
5.In the "for sale" column you will see "free" its under computer.
6.Click on "for free" and it will give you a list of things that are free. Sometimes people are just giving it away.
7.But always use your common sense and your gut instinct. And be safe and never go by yourself.
8.Or you can just stick to getting things on the net...whatever you want to do.

P.S I have not tryed to get anything from there...I am too much of a scaredy cat! But if I saw something I really liked then maybe I would try, but 100% I would bring my Bf. He has boughten stuff from craigs list and has sold stuff from there, so its pretty safe. But you can never be to cafeful.

kijiji.ca is also like that, but theres much more stuff on there for my city. xD
