Repeats and Reposts Rules..... NEW!!!!!!!! Please READ!!!!!

Not sure if it's the summer heat getting to people, but having going through 15 pages of freebies, I think we have some problems with repeats, and the negativity towards them.

So from now on if there is a Repeat.
Hit the Report Button. Currently we are short of staff due to so many on holidays. That alerts all staff of a problem. Then we can easily remove it.

If someone has many repeats, please just say nothing, just report them all. PLease leave it to staff to deal with it.

Please remember to use your Thanks button for good freebies. This encourages people to post more.

What do we do with repeats?

We merge them with the original post. So when you say this is a repeat it looks kinda funny because all the comments follow. This way the original author gets the credit, and the repeat simply follows it, bumping it up to grab attention, it will happen regardless of how old the original freebie is.

PLease also remember to add in the website name in the title, this helps us staff to find the original post quicker, and as well helps you find out if the freebie has been posted already.

Example: http://www.gov.ab.ca/freecow you'd put in for example Free cow sticker gov.ab or if it's http://www.calvinklien.com add in subject could read " free perfume sample calvinklein "

Hopefully this makes sense. The staff usually will attempt to fix the ones with out it. but please try to add it, it helps the repeats to become minimum.


What is the point of Reporting it QUIETLY, when your going to announce to everyone this is a repeat.

Thank you for your kind words! I agree b/c there are times where I see repeats and I refrain b/c I am grateful people are making an effort. I am grateful that if I've missed a post I don't have to do a long search for it. I do apologize for all of us who lack time and or attention when dealing with such matters. Cheers!

Thanks ... this is a great idea! I know I have hesitated to post because some of the negative comments I've seen. I, for one, don't mind the repeats because I have often missed it the first time.

I dont think that mentioning that it is a repost is always negative but this is a great way to get a mods attention without having to mention that it is a repost. thanks

Well Im glad thats taken care of. To tell you the truth Ive avoided posting freebies because I was a little afraid of screwing up and being embarrassed. This way its between me and HappyCappy (or a moderator) and a helpful friend who flags my post. You all CAN keep a boo boo a secret - cant you?

Thank-you! I really appreciate the feedback! I feel much better now. But seriously, how do you post a link? Do you just copy and paste the address shown at the freebie page? And do you only post a link AFTER you get the freebie? Or is after a successful submit OK?

Great idea Happy;) I know I've made my share of mistakes.....but this might encourage more involvement...because of less embarassment
