Since a good chunk of Canadians live within 4 hours of the USA border, I thought it would be a good idea to try and give you some tips that you could use while you attempt to coupon there. Couponing in the USA is a bit different than couponing in Canada; some questions you may ask are:
Where do I obtain my coupons? And how do I go about doing this.
In the states, they don’t have services like Websaver.ca, and Save.ca which allow you to order your coupons, so there is no need to worry about those kinds, but they do have several more choices to print off coupons, below is a list of the most popular.
PRINTABLE USA COUPON SITES
In the United States Coupon Inserts come out in the Sunday morning newspapers. Or if you want you can try one of their coupon clipper services such as The Coupon Clipper
ALL YOU MAGAZINE
All You Magazine is a magazine that has up to $60.00 of value of coupons monthly. You can purchase this magazine at a USA Wal-mart at a low cost. They also offer the convenience of offering printable coupons on site as well here.
STORE FLYERS, TEAR PADS AND BILLBOARDS
There are a lot of stores in the USA that have bulletin boards in the front of their stores similar to that of our Superstores; also check out their flyers as there may be a lot of clippable coupons in there as well. Tear pads are also placed around in store and are similar to those found in Canada, Just look on the shelves.
Listed Below are some blogs I found in the USA that are from cities close to the boarder, so perhaps before heading out you can take a look at some of their coupon/flyer matchups and see what printables you can get a hold of.
Mid West Regions: Minnesota, North Dakota’s, etc
What about Coupon Stacking?
In the USA like in Canada, you can coupon stack at some stores (check their coupon policies) but you need to find a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon in order to stack. Wal-mart USA and Wal-mart Canada have the same coupon policies (No stacking but overage allowed)
