LouLou Magazine Canada Shop Til’ You Drop~At Cadillac Fairview Shopping Centres in Ontario

You may or may not have seen an advertisment at your local Cadillac Fairview shopping centere in Ontario recently. I believe there are FIVE centeres participating in this event this year. I had never heard of LouLou shop til’ you drop until last month when there was a huge poster at the mall. I looked into it and was so excited that I marked it everywhere! Every calendar, cell phone, computer, and all my friends minds to ensure I wouldnt miss out and no one would want me to do something that day.

So for everyone itching to know what it’s all about, I am going to share my experience with you :) . On the day of the event I arrived an HOUR early to the specified location for LOULOU shop til’ you drop event. The first 500 people to arrive and line up by 5 got a LOULOU swag bag. At this point there were already about 20 people in line waiting, so i rushed over to the line and joined. They had a very long red carpet rolled out for people to line up on so it wasn’t easy to miss it. About 20 minutes later I looked back to see how many more people there were, and it was pretty packed now. My friend had also decided to join in the fun so she came and joined the back of the line ( BUTTING IN LINE ISN’T FAIR). Around 4:30 they began to give out wristbands to people waiting in line, many found out at this point you have to be 18 or older…. so many waited in line over an hour for no reason :(.

Once 5:00 hit the line was so large It was out the doors but still not @ 500 people, the line moved up and each person went down the line, got their sheet with all the deals happening that night and a “passport”, then had their wristband cut off, then were given a LOU LOU swag bag. After I got my swag bag I went out of the loulou area and walked down the line to find my friend who was still waiting, and gave her and some other people surrounding her a sneak peek into the bag. Honestly I didn’t fully investigate the contents of my bag until  10 that night when I got home so I will tell you all later :) . Immediatly after my friend got her swag bag we grabbed our passports and went searching for the three stores listed to get our stamps and return our stamped passport to be entered into the draw. I honestly don’t remember ALL the prizes but they had A LOT. $500 Mall shop card, west 49 Gift card, beauty bags, and at least 10 more for this part alone. My friend and I went to all three stores, got stamps, and stopped by my moms store to brag about the bags. Then returned our completed passport for a ballot. Now it was simply time to SHOP TIL’ WE DROPPED!  Almost every store in the mall was doing something! Weather it was a free manicure to first 25 people, free gift with purchase, DJ in store, contest in their store, treats and drinks or even PHOTOBOOTHS! There was so much happening we went to one end of the mall and worked our way to the other side looking for little stickers on windows showing LOULOU SHOP TIL’ YOU DROP.

 Here are  some things we did/got just off the top of my head:

~ @ Gap we got candy bags and perrier water and there were swag bags with purchase of $50

~@ Billabong we got free make overs, candy, stickers, lanyards, and free pictures in the photobooth! The photobooth was pretty fun, they had a random pile of things you could put on ( hats, glasses, puppets) and the camera would take 3 pictures, they also had a computer screen showing previous pictures and some were so cute!

~@ Guess we got a key as we walked in and you got to try the key on the big box @ the back of the store, if your key opened it you won a $200 GUESS gift card! ( my mom ALMOST WON TOO! the lady after her got it!) Guess also had a DJ, water, and cake pops in their store

~@ Journey’s we got to enter to win a pair of shoes, got free t-shirts, and they had an AWESOME DJ in their store.

There were a ton of other stores doing things but that is just a little taste of what we experienced.

It was almost like trick or treating but WAY better! We definitly shopped till we dropped! we were both sore the next day but it was WORTH IT!

And as promised here are some of the great things I got in my bag:

bottles of water ( came in handy when we got thristy during shopping)

coupons ( tons of them! food, shoes, department stores etc)

reusuable bags ( cant have enough of these )

$20 gift card ( I am pretty sure this was either a random one of a first 20 people because my friend did not get one)

Stick on nail polish ( havent tried it yet but looks interesting)

chocolate

toothpaste, mouth wash

mirror

and as the night went on my bag got heavier and heavier since there were tons of free things going on! I swear my friend had 5 makeovers as well!
