In an effort to eat better in 2013 I have recently discovered Quinoa. I first thought it was a super-grain but then came to realize it is actually a seed. A super seed packed with lots of wonderful nutrients. There are lots of different ways you can cook and consume quinoa. Today I decided to try out a burger recipe I found on the Canadian Living website.
As you can see in the above picture we decided to also fry up some mushrooms with chopped garlic and sesame seeds. I know it is supposed to be Meatless Monday but today it was Meatless Wednesday. My husband decided not to have any of the sauce and put his quinoa burger on a bun and added sauted mushrooms and hot peppers. My daughter decided to also go with a bun and put the yogurt sauce on as you would a condiment. I, on the other hand ate mine just as you see it plain (no bun) with Lemon Yogurt sauce and a side of sauted mushrooms and ceasar salad.

Me->very good, would probably up the flavour next time by adding some diced red peppers
Daughter->doesn’t taste link burgers, but nice for a change
Hubby -> not bad, but would still prefer chocolate cake
