So hopefully you read my first review on Raw Gaia that I published on October 2/10. If not and you want a peek, you can read it here. If you are a regular follower than let me just refresh your memory. Raw Gaia is a wonderful company that produces only 100% organic skin and body care products. These organic, vegan and living skin care products are all natural and contain vital nutrients your skin will love.In my last review I had the opportunity to try out Raw Gaia’s Living Facial Cleanser and I can tell you that I am still using and enjoying it every single day.This time around I was given the opportunity to try a complementary product. Raw Gaia’s Organic Floral Face Toner. This product works in perfect combination with the Living Facial Cleanser.Like the facial cleanser the Raw Gaia Floral Face Toner comes in a 100ml cobalt blue glass bottle to help protect those essential oils. It is a hydrosol spray made of fine grade floral waters and essential oils. It is specially formulated to help tone, balance and revitalise your skin. It can be used on all skin types and like all Raw Gaia products it is all natural.
With this Floral Face Toner you just simply shake the bottle and spray it all over your face and neck after cleansing. It is really that easy. I personally hate spraying things straight on my face due to the fact that I am so accident prone. I always fear that I am going to get it in my eyes and go permanently blind or something. Since Raw Gaia products are so pure this would probably not happen but I am not willing to take any chances. What I decided to do instead was pickup some cotton pads at my local drug store. You know the ones that are like little quilted squares. I bought the lint free type since I didn’t want to be picking little pieces of cotton off my face. So instead of spraying the Raw Gaia Floral Face Toner directly on my face I just spray it on the cotton pad and apply it to my face and neck that way. (Works better for me anyway). So onto what I really think of this product. Well again I was very pleased. The Floral Face Toner is soft and gentle on my skin. Some other toners I have tried over the years have made my skin feel tight and dry but not this one. Because Raw Gaia products are basically unheated and completely chemical free, they retain all the natural goodness nature has to offer. Think of it this way. It is the same as cooking your vegetables too long. What happens? You lose all the vitamins and minerals. We all know that Raw is always better. The same goes for your skin care products. You will get the most out of products that are pure and natural. The Raw Gaia Floral Face Toner as mentioned before is made with high-grade floral waters and essential oil. It leaves my skin feeling soft and balanced. There are no dry or oily patches after using this toner. There is no tightness to your skin either. The Raw Gaia Floral Face Toner also has an amazing calming scent. It is very subtle but it is definitely there. So this prompted me to check out what exactly was in this stuff. Here is what I discovered.
Distilled Floral Waters of: Rose Otto, Neroli
Essential Oils of: Palmarosa, Chamomile, Rose Geranium and Lavender
That’s it! Here is a better explanation from the Raw Gaia website.
Rose Otto floral water: a humectant skin tonic, that helps to add and retain moisture. It has very mild antiseptic and astringent qualities. It stimulates blood flow in the minute vessels under the skin. It is also of benefit for scars, minor infections, sunburn and ageing skin.
(Wow, since I have some scars and ageing skin, I love this!)
Neroli floral water: A wonderful treatment for delicate, sensitive skin as well as for oily skin, due to its astringent properties. It has natural calming qualities too.
(I definitely have sensitive skin)
Palmarosa essential oil: Useful in the treatment of weeping eczema, wrinkles as well as for nervous exhaustion and stress-related symptoms.
(Unfortunately, I have wrinkles too.)
Rose geranium essential oil: Good for all skin types thanks to its balancing effect. It helps to maintain the skin supple and to enliven the skin complexion.
(Balance is always a good thing)
Chamomile essential oil: Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, this is one of the best essential oils for eczema, sunburns, dry or irritated skin.
(I don’t have any of these conditions but good to know just in case)
Lavender essential oil: it is good for all skin types since it promotes skin cell growth. It has a light, woody aroma.
(I love the smell of Lavender-it is so calming)
If you read through the above, you will see that all of these ingredients have wonderful healing properties. I find it amazing that nature has so much to offer us. You can have an astringent in a totally alcohol-free product. I love that.
I think that Lisa Lennon the inventor and developer of these amazing Raw Gaia products has really done her research and is producing some great all natural, organic skin care products. I can tell you that I have extremely sensitive skin and neither the facial cleanser nor the floral facial toner has caused any ill effects. That’s something cool! I’ve read good things about Spirulina! But I don’t know hahha.. If given the opportunity, I might. So spirulina superfood it is!
