Have you been following some of the trends with food lately? Pre-biotic, Pro-biotic? Foods enhanced with different vitamins, minerals and fatty acids. There are many people that believe the true way to go is organic, vegetarian or vegan. Many other people are strong believers that RAW is the only way to go. Eating products that are not processed or cooked. This is believed to retain all the vital nutrients and energy our food has to offer. This was the basic principal Lisa Lennon applied when trying to find a facial moisturizer for her very dry skin. She wanted something as close to nature as possible and after finding out there really wasn’t anything available she took things into her own hands and started experimenting. Lisa only consumed organic foods and was a strict vegan. She wanted to create a moisturizer that followed here lifestyle beliefs.
“After months of trial and error, research and perseverance, Lisa came up with the first ever “living” skin care product, what is now called For Her Daughters Living Moisturiser. It was (and still is) hand-made through a special low temperature process, using only organic, cold-pressed butters and oils, infused with some essential oils.”
Lisa and her test-friends were amazed at the results. Their skin was improving within just days of trying her new product. She had created a whole new concept of skin care and it worked!
Raw Gaia now offers a full line of skin care products. They are 100% organic, living and vegan. Here is an excerpt from the Raw Gaia website that explains this fascinating concept.
The importance of raw, living skin care
Raw Gaia is also very careful of how they process their products. They are never heated over 40 degrees and never use heated oils and fats that can be detrimental to your skin. There are no harsh chemicals. It is simply one of the purest, most natural, organic skin care lines available. To read more about the benefits and processes of Raw Gaia products just click here for easy access to their site.
I was recently invited by Raw Gaia to try out their Living Facial Cleanser first hand. I must admit when I first noticed the word “Living” it kinda scared me. I thought “what the heck am I going to be putting on my face?” ” I sure hope it doesn’t actually move!” So my parcel arrived last week and I was very pleased when I opened the box to find an attractive cobalt blue glass bottle of my Organic Facial Cleanser. Now just to clarify I am not a vegetarian or vegan by any means, but I love the concept of an all natural, pure skin care product. Through other reviews I have done in the past one thing always seems to ring true. Natural is better. It is time to get away from all the harsh, damaging chemicals that we use on our hair and skin. There are lots of wonderful oils and nutrients that mother nature has to offer. We just need to take a step back and enjoy what our Earth has to offer. So the “living” part of this facial cleanser is really quite simple and not scary at all. Basically Raw Gaia retains all the life force of the vital nutrients by not over heating their ingredients. Over heating can destroy most of the antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and the life force. This facial cleanser is essentially raw and living. As you can well imagine with such an organic, pure product it might also be sensitive to light and I think this is probably it is packaged in the dark-blue glass bottle. Makes sense to me and looks great.

With some facial cleansers you get your face wet and scrub away to remove dirt and oil and than rinse thoroughly. Raw Gaia organic living facial cleanser is a little different. You simply wet your face and then spray your entire face and neck with the facial cleanser. Then you take a cotton pad and wipe it off, taking all the nasty dirt and oil with it. I have been using the Raw Gaia facial cleanser for just about a week now. I really love that this facial cleanser is so gentle on my skin. It leaves it feeling clean, but not all dried out. It is soft and clean. You don’t feel like there is any residue left on your skin. It is not oily or sticky, but it does do something to your skin almost immediately-It nourishes it. I tried an experiment this week with Raw Gaia facial cleanser. I washed my face using an everyday bar soap. I used a well-known brand that has been around for decades. I washed my face throughly and rinsed it as well as I could and then patted my skin dry. I spritzed some Raw Gaia Living Facial Cleaners on a cotton pad and began wiping it across my face. I was amazed and disgusted all at the same time. My skin felt tight after the bar soap was but after using the Raw Gaia it felt moisturized. That is the amazing part. The disgusting part is the amount of dirt that was clearly visible on the cotton pad after I had just (what I thought) was thoroughly cleansed my face. How on earth did I still have makeup and other residue on my face? I was very impressed at this point. I had to find out what was really in this stuff. Here is what I found . . .
Organic Witch Hazel Floral Water: It has fantastic cleansing and astringent qualities without drying the skin. High in antioxidants and well-known for its revitalising properties, witch hazel floral Water is particularly effective on teenage skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties are good for reducing redness and sore swollen skin.
Organic Tea Tree Floral Water & Tea Tree Essential Oil: An antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial combination which is highly cleansing and purifying. It also helps to clear spots and pimples.
Organic Juniper Floral Water & Juniper Essential Oil: Effectively cleanses and detoxifies the skin. Especially good for acne, unblocking pores, congested skin and water retention.
Organic Cold-pressed Jojoba Oil: combines with the skin’s own sebum and gently unclogs pores and helps to free embedded dirt and grime. It is a natural anti-bacterial and helps to reduce skin inflammation.
Organic Cold-pressed Wheatgerm Oil: Rich in natural antifungal and antibacterial properties and high in vitamin E. It has excellent antioxidant properties which helps improve one’s overall complexion.
Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil: A natural antibacterial agent with good cleansing properties. Helps to detoxify congested skin and is a good overall skin tonic with the added bonus of helping to reduce fine lines.
Organic Lemon Essential Oil: Helps to enliven the skin complexion by removing dead skin cells. It has good cleansing ability and is naturally antifungal and antibacterial.
Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil: Helps to clear congested skin, spots and pimples.
No wonder this facial cleaner from Raw Gaia works so well. I also find that it has a really nice calm scent, one that is natural and not offensive at all, might be the Eucalyptus but not quite sure.
Check out all the wonderful, organic products Raw Gaia has to offer. There really is a great selection.

If you are looking for all natural, 100% organic and vegan skin care products, you have to check out Raw Gaia. If you’re not totally satisfied with your current facial cleaner, try going chemical free and give Raw Gaia a chance. I really think it is a great cleanser and I have seen improvements in my skin already. I can’t wait to see more improvement over the following few weeks.
