Have you been keeping your New Years resolutions?  I have, with the help of my newest kitchen tool!  I really wanted to change the way my family and I were eating.  I wanted to include more fresh veggies and fruits.  The kiddos eat enough of those things but us adults need some help with it.

The one problem area for me is portion size.  The Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale has helped me see how many calories I am consuming per portion.  The Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale comes with a handy calorie factor & instruction booklet.  The booklet is an easy to read guide to calorie counting.  The guide allows me to quickly and easily calculate the calorie content in an individual portion of thousands of foods. All I do is weigh my portion of food on the scale and multiply by the calorie factor found in the booklet! Easy!

This scale has helped me make better choices quickly!  Not only is it pretty, very important to fit in to the kitchen decor, it is also very easy to use.  It comes with batteries and is ready to go right out of the box.  The scale also comes with a tare function.  This allows you automatically return your scale to zero at any time, enabling you to subtract the weight of a bowl or plate or weigh multiple items in a row.

I had a choice of 3 snacks.  I weighed them and looked up the calories in my booklet.

Raspberries: 44g x 0.52 = 22.88 calories
Cashews: 50g x 5.74 = 287 calories
Mandarin: 63g x 0.53 =  33.39 calories

The cashews are easier to grab and go but now I can see at what cost!  Better to take the raspberries and/or the mandarin.

Overall this is a welcomed addition to my kitchen.  It is a great tool to start to help me on keeping my New Years Resolution!
