What do you shop for at Value Village?

Personally I don’t shop much there – but lots of times for special dress up occasions like Halloween or other dress up parties. When my kids were little (under 4) I would stop at Value Village quite often to see their variety and buy brand name outfits for the kids/babies for a fraction of the price.  I have heard lots of rumors that the prices are now expensive and not so much worth the stop to shop, but I really haven’t looked around to evaluate.

  1. I agree that the prices are way too high for second hand clothing. I found the same that you can get the same items at Walmart for the same price. I hardly shop there because of the prices.

  2. I have found that, for a second hand store they’re over pricing the used item’s people donated to the store! Family’s like my own whom are on a limited budget can’t afford to shop in Value Village. Pricing is the same as Walmart & if I am going to be paying full price for a second hand item then I might as well shop in Sears Walmart or Target & get it brand new at the same price as they sell items in the Vernon & Kelowna location’s! Thought this store sold to people who are low income & can’t afford to shop in the department store’s! I haven’t bought anything from Value Village in 17yrs only because their prices are waaaay too high!
